Zak Penn talks...Hulk sequel!

^ Not true. Everyone involved has told us this film would be the Hulk film all the fans will be happy with. Lots of action, Hulk as a hero, lighter on the psycho-drama, with bits of horror, noir, etc...That's enough for me. Plus the rights are with Marvel and we got a director with a good vision for this character who's really excited about the project.

People that benefit directly from the success of the film hyping it up is enough to convince you it's a film for Hulk fans????

Hehe. X3 déjà vu, anyone? C'mon, do you really think that someone who's working on the film comes bashing it to everyone? :whatever:

Exactly, no one involved with making TIH are gonna say: "This will be a rubbish Hulk, with poor action and a poor script" when they are working on the ****ing movie. For christs sake AD dont be so naive.

Agreed.

This is just one of those instances where Hulk fans have to keep there fingers crossed and hope that they don't make another X3.

So far Spidey fans have 2 (soon to be 3) awesome movies.

X men fans have a descent (X1) movie, an awesome movie (X2), and a horrible movie (X3).

Hulk fans have Hulk (which pissed all over Stan Lee's origin story FOR NO REASON for 70% of the movie). It wasn't the worst movie but like I said, the beginning was entirely too long, and the changes were unnesessary as all hell.

The sequal is coming out and it could be awesome or crappy. But damn, it sure looks to be leaning toward the crappy side. :csad:

Yeah, and people who have nothing to do with the movie, who haven't got a clue as to what is actually going on, who aren't involved in any way, shape or form, are saying it's going to suck based on what they know. Which is ? Hmmm :oldrazz:

Which is?

For starters, none of the cast is returning.

It's not a sequel. Really, restarting the franchise after 4 years???

The budget sucks.

Zak Penn is writing it. After X3 and FF I don't think anyone needs to explain why that is not a good thing.

And if this movie sucks Hulk fans will have to wait a very long time before they get another shot at seeing a Hulk movie that DOESN'T suck.

And that's just for starters.

It's not a sequel. Really, restarting the franchise after 4 years??? Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa maybe they get it right this time.

The budget sucks. $120,000,000 is still nothing to sneeze at. It's only $17,000,00 less than the first one.

Zak Penn is writing it. After X3 and FF I don't think anyone needs to explain why that is not a good thing. We haven't seen what he's doing yet therefore this is opinion. Some people liked those movies

And if this movie sucks Hulk fans will have to wait a very long time before they get another shot at seeing a Hulk movie that DOESN'T suck. This is true. However, if the first one wasn't such a masterpiece they might not have had to make a "do over"

We know very little at this point. Once we actually see, with our eyes, what they are doing then we can start to form an opinion based on something other than "Its not going to be like Angs Hulk so its going to suck." When I hear that, it's music to my ears. On the other hand, I'll be the first to admit it's going to suck if the trailer looks like crap.

The sad part is Ang Lee's Hulk was set up perfect for a sequel with more action and destruction.
All the characters were ready to grow as characters and Atheon was there ready for the Abomination.

As far as the world knew the Hulk was dead, and so was Banner.
Emil Blonsky infiltrates the U.S. Air Force base in New Mexico that is commanded by General "Thunderbolt" Ross and sabotages the gamma missiles at the base that were vital to United States defense.
Well you know the rest.

i agree, if Ang were given a second chance, his Hulk 2 would have been great.

First of all most people enjoyed X3. Hell even here on the hype I think a few too many of you believe your tastes are a reflection of the rest of the world. Check out the poll on the hype and even that's not a reflection how the general audience feels most of which are not obsessed comic book freaks. So go ahead and jump on the tiny X3 bashing bandwagon...I and most others enjoyed it. I'm sure you could gather a few thousand people who didn't like it...but the millions of others did. Also...do you really think Marvel is gonna take their biggest property (under their own studio) and make a 100-150 million dollar bad film? This is their baby. This isn't another studio making it. I know it's popular to bash Fox and Rothan by those who think their "in the know" or a representative of the community here.

CJ, i havent liked ONE bit of news we have had on this movie, not one, even with X3 i liked some of the news we got before its release. But, X3, FF and Elektra are widely regarded on this board as 3 of the worst CB movies since B&R. Even in the Hulk vs X3 thread, Hulk trounced X3 on the votes of which was the better movie and, yes this is Ang Lee's Hulk that you despised so much. I have seen 3 of the directors movies and the best one was barely average. And i am a big fan of Hulk and they going a completely different direction and using non of the cast i liked. So please tell me, what do i have to look forward to in this movie?

Advanced Dark said:

I don't understand what you base that view on. Critics hate it, nearly everyone I know that went to see it hated it, most people on the boards hated it... unless you've done your own poll, you have NO way of knowing if general audiences liked X3 or not.

Most people liked X3? Please dont be judging this by the DVD sales, i hate the movie and i bought it just to complete the trilogy and i bet a lot of others did the same. Check out the poll on the hype, check out the 3 or 4 polls were X3 is getting its ass kicked badly in the votes, there's SR vs X3, Hulk vs X3 on the misc film forum and its getting its ass kicked in both, and the on the misc comic movies forum there are the 'best 2006 CB movie' poll and 'best comic book movie ever poll' and its getting its ass handed to it in both of those as well. Also check out the 'What do you think of X3 now' thread on the X3 boards and most of the votes are for poor, so dont even attempt to bring polls up.

Look at the poll on the main page...and that's just of people on the hype. LOL X3 is close behind Superman.

here's a few more polls:

http://www.misterpoll.com/results.mpl?id=3675907978

http://multivote.sparklit.com/poll.spark/12291

http://www.the-movie-times.com/thrsdir/questions/topsuperfilm.mv?parm_func=view

http://www.misterpoll.com/results.mpl?id=3096895603

...and most all polls of the general audience has the Last Stand as the best X-Men film.

Average user on Yahoo give's it a B+

http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808490830/user

I don't care about hype specific polls to gauge how the general movie audience feels but surfing the web and checking out random polls X3 is ontop of almost all of them. Small or large polls it's consistent. Even the poll on the front page has X3 as the second favorite film behind Superman. And yes DVD sales do measure somewhat the reception of a film. X3 did great at the box office and broke records...then it came out on DVD and did the same. If it was so bad who would buy the DVD and why do almost all the reviews on general sites by fans on Amazon, Yahoo, movies.com, etc...all rate it high??? Why? Because the opinions here are NOT a reflection of the average person.

Look at the multiple polls ON THE HYPE, X3 get trashed in every one.

Number 1: Superman Returns is in the lead.
Number 2: The other choices are horrendous.
Number 3: Pointing to an internet poll for your argument is stupid.

Yeah I know so pointing at the box office which shows how many tickets sold is stupid, showing strong dvd sales is stupid, pointing to polls is stupid. Probably asking people is stupid too. Get a grip son.

That's because the hype is NOT a reflection of the average moviegoer but more of a reflection of self important angry militant fans who think 150 million dollar movies should be made to their wishes even if they flop and lose money. Still X3 is ranked high on the main page here. Nuff said. So keep on riding the bashing bandwagon with the minority. To most X3 was the best and most fun film of the series. Not most here...but most in the population.

Jamon I don't dispise Angs Hulk. I was making a point that we know next to nothing about what direction they are going with the movie. We know Zak is the writer. Frenchy is the Director and ................... Oh yeah, it's going to be closer to the comic book. There is not one single person in the business (writing, directing, actiing, ect) who hasn't had a stinker. So going on their track record is the norm. But they could suprise us. When Ang Lee was announced as the director of Hulk, people freaked! When they said Hulk dogs, 15 feet, No Gamma Bomb, No Rick Jones, Absorbing dad and Jelly fish, people freaked! Hell most people didn't like the idea of Bana playing Banner. Yes people said "it's going to suck", "Ang Lee?", Growing to 15 feet! "It's going to suck." And look, some people loved the movie. Some people thought it was ok (that would be me) and others wished only bad things to happen to Ang Lee and company for the rest of their lives. I was giving it (Ang) a chance then and I'm giving it (Frenchy) a chance now. I hated the changes being made but said, and Sava and Ions can votch for me, maybe it will work out. In my mind they didn't but that's neither here nor there, my point is, at this point we know next to nothing. When we find out the plot, the FX being used and see the first image then we can at least make an educated guess as to the out come and not just fan-boy gasm. What do you have to look foward to? Proving me wrong for hoping I guess and saying I told you so. :oldrazz:

So it's ok to judge the Hulk on it's DVD sale but not X-3? Hmmm. The one that still cracks me up is when I hear "The toys sold real good." BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :woot:

I've been riding that bandwagon before X3 got released, and after that, even faster.

Well, apparently. I'll be more than happy if TIH, in my opinion, turns out to be a good movie, but at the moment any sign isn't saying that.

You'll probably like Eragon more than LotR's or Narnia.

I'd rather wan't a good movie that flops than a bad movie that makes ****load of money. I.E. Serenity/X3.

I don't care if were in the minority. I hate the movie. Period. I'm not gonna suddenly start to like the movie just because I'm in the minority. And the majority who liked the movie are propably those mindless "trailer trash" people who can't even read properly. Harsh, I know. But I'm not being entirerly serious.

I liked Serenity. Wasn't the greatest movie ever but it was fun and held my interest. I guess I'm "trailer trash."

You people crack me up. If it dosen't meet your expectations it's crap and anyone who did like it is a moron or "trailer trash" who can't read. HAHAH you crack me up. :whatever:
