Zoolander 2 Is Coming

The trailer wasn't too heavy with the "Spot the cameo" gag. Save it for the movie

Those we did see are

No idea who any of those people are.

That's Joe Jonas on the right, not sure who the girl is though.

Looks fun. I really, really hope this is the first unanimously praised sequel to a comedy classic (of the recent late coming sequels, I mean).

If it's anything like the first it won't be.

At best, it's going to be like Anchorman 2 (mediocre, not as good as the original, but it had some funny moments throughout). At worst, it'll be like Dumb and Dumber To (which shouldn't have even been made).

Honestly, I thought Anchorman 2 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The trailer for this does look like it has promise, but if I see it it'll definitely be going in with my expectations tempered, comedy sequels can go downhill alarmingly easily.

The cinematography is pretty darn good. From Dan Mindel, who just did The Force Awakens.

I've watched both version of Anchorman 2..and wow, I can't believe I'm saying this but both versions were pretty bad.

I don't know if there's too much plot..too many callbacks to the original..or the cast not being as energetic as they were the first time around, but Anchorman 2 was just a slow moving mess.

Anchorman 2 was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was just flat-out awful.

Who are we talking about here?
Whoops. Ben Cumberbatch. Completely forgot we had a lead actor named Ben.

On the other hand, it's crazy how much younger they made Ben look with makeup considering how he can look worn down as hell in some of his more recent works like Walter Mitty and When We're Young.

I hope for a Tropic Thunder Reunion with RDJ as himself.

I actually think it'd be funnier if RDJ straight up appeared as Kirk Lazarus in 2oolander without any warning, and then among his reportoire of characters he pulls out an oddly familiar billionaire genius playboy philanthropist.

I loved Mugatu's reveal in the trailer he was all big bad ass and buff and tattooed and he ripped off the skin revealing his blue suit and wild hair :hehe:.

Well, I laughed at the trailer, so that's a good sign. 22 Jump Street has given me a newfound hope for comedy sequels.

Looks like it could be really good . Benedict Cumberbatch's cameo looks great and Kristen Wiig is looking awesome :funny:

The 21 Jump Street Franchise seems to have worked great on self-awareness. On the ridiculousness of TV to movie remakes and sequels in general.

The problem with the vast majority of comedy sequels is that they just retread on the jokes you saw in the last film. It's like the makers don't get hearing a joke twice makes it not as funny?

I was throughly entertained by that trailer. Here's hoping it's more 22 Jump Street than Anchorman 2.

I wonder where Matilda Derek's wife was in the trailer? I mean we got to see Derek Jr. at least

I didn't laugh or grin one bit outside of benedicts cameo. This looks like it was dumped in February for a reason and I hate to say it but Ben Stiller and his gang of comedy pals like Vince Vaughn etc, there time is done clearly.

Zoolander 2 doesn’t arrive in theaters until next year but its recently released trailer is creating a bit of a stir.

An online petition created by Sarah Rose is urging for a boycott of the Ben Stiller film because of a new character played by Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch, a supermodel named “All.”

Rose writes, “In the Zoolander 2 trailer, an androgynous character played by Benedict Cumberbatch is asked by Zoolander and Hansel if he is a ‘male or female model,’ and if they ‘have a hot dog or a bun.’ Additionally, Cumberbatch’s character is clearly portrayed as an over-the-top, cartoonish mockery of androgyne/trans/non-binary individuals. This is the modern equivalent of using blackface to represent a minority.”

So far, Rose’s petition has more than 5,800 signatures.

Paramount Pictures did not respond to EW’s request for comment. Zoolander 2 is out on Feb. 12. Check out the trailer below.

I really can't stand this ****. You would think that a group of people that as progressive and forward-thinking as the trans community supposedly is would be able to take a ****ing joke.

It's a spoof. Were airplane pilots offended by the movie Airplane? Did cops boycott the release of The Naked Gun? Were black people outraged by the over-the-top, stereotypical portrayal of a black man in Scary Movie? Should male models and hetereosexual/metrosexual men by offended by the cartoonish portrayals in Zoolander?

With transgender culture having officially become "mainstream" and more widely accepted than ever, I would think they would be happy that they are "in on the joke" and included in the pop culture comedy spectrum. But of course, no. Instead, they equate it to using blackface and any comedy that pokes fun at a trans-person is off limits, I guess.
