I enjoyed RZ's Halloween.
It could have copied it scene from scene, but it did something different, which I did enjoy.

I'm glad there are others out there that enjoyed Zombie's Halloween. I thought I was the only one. The original is a classic, but I still thought Zombie's was pretty cool.

Interesting rumor on the upcomming reboot, Billy Bob Thorton as Freddy.

Robert Englund was on the late night radio show Loveline last week to promote JACK BROOKS, MONSTER SLAYER (and discuss sex, I guess), and was inevitably asked about the NIGHTMARE reboot. And Englund stated that the last gossip he heard was that Thornton could be slipping on the sweater and burn makeup for the role.
Englund also claims he’s not opposed to being replaced (as he says, he already made the movie), or the remake itself, since he feels it’s the sort of movie that deserves a bigger budget for the dreamscape special effects (they ran out of money while making the first movie).

I'm not against recasting because it's bound to happen, but Billy Bob is sort of a downgrade imho.

Yea personally the only time i think if fair to replace englund as freddy is when he has died(which i hope is many yrs from now). As for this remake i have no clue who would be a good replacement for freddy as i said before, hopefully they get someone who can have the same flair in the role like englund did for all these years.

Billy Bob better do what Heath Ledger did, learn the character by living in a Hotel room doing something to be Freddy, I dont want him to play Freddy, I want him to BE Freddy, kind as if Robert Englund himself passes his throne to Billy Bob.

Probably, but I'm just ready for a fresh take on Freddy, since they are going to do it anyway. I think Freddy should be an older actor anyway, makes that child murderer aspect more disturbing. That last sentence makes me sound really twisted.

I kinda agree with the above comparison to ledger. Dont get me wrong, Englund was amazing as Freddy, even in the crappier films he always stood out and made it fun. Thornton though could genuinely make this movie something more than another horror remake like ledger helped make TDK more than another comic book movie. I really like this casting rumour.

I think they should go with someone in there 30's to early 40's for the role.

Cause I'm cause Platinum Dunes is gonna be the one who is gonna make the movie. And rhey have a good relationship with New Line through the TCM movies they made.

For those wondering what the NOES reboot would look like from PD i'm sure it would be alot like New Nightmare but with some updated stuff and kills.

Outside of the original, New Nightmare is my favorite of the series, Freddy doesn't make jokes, he diesn't **** around.
