I'm having a really hard time seeing anyone but Robert Englund as Freddy.

Hmm. While I think Billy Bob can be an amazing actor (Slingblade) I am having a hard time seeing him in this role. I don't think I have ever seen him give any indication or performance that he could pull off the voice, creepiness, and attitude that Englund gave.

Billy bob is a good actor but i agree too he isnt who i would pick as robert's replacement since they are not going with him. I dont really know who would be good to take over the glove from robert at this present moment. But i dont even think billy bob is even official has their been any statements from him, the studio making the film(wb i believe since they took over new line) and from the producers/director of the film?

I would hope for someone a bit younger,that's for sure. Honestly,I don't know who I'd pick. Freddy is my all time favorite character ever and an icon. Robert Englund will forever be Freddy,but as I've stated I can see another actor playing him. I don't think any character these days can be played by just one person(Indiana Jones,Superman,Spider-man;etc).
I would really have to sit down and look at everyone and see if they had the character down(or what he should be like,in my eyes). Personally,I wish I had a shot at it. No joke. Being such a HUGE fanatic,I've watched every film 100 times and studied all of Robert's mannerisms and the way he acts as Freddy. I have have a deep voice and so I have that down. I've practiced for decades. t: I do a pretty damn good impersonation.

Man,I wish I did.
I have Freddy's hat,sweater and glove for the original and his hat and sweater from The Dream Child(thanks to David Miller,Freddy's makeup artist for parts 1,5 and NN). Freddy has different ways of moving and speaking through each individual movie. I have a myspace,but that doesn't help much I know(myspace.com/thesymbiotestrikes).

heart and soul was gone in FREDDYS DEAD imo --
it was too funny and quirky and less horror.

i liked freddys dead, but come on to say NOW its loosing heart and soul...

Its a remake its been long known as a remake for months now. A few yrs back there was a rumor they were planning on doing a prequel film to the series but that never came to be.
