i learned that you dont have to have action in a comic book movie about superman. todays kids go in thte theater to watch a superman movie withou action and only a love story.
and i learned that this is how you make milion of dolars.
thats the reason why the budget for the seqeul will be so much bigger.

I've learned from Superman Returns that fanboys are completely devoid of logic and reason, and that all it takes is one little thing they don't like completely robs a film of any quality it has. They lie and exagerrate to ridiculous lengths in attempts to justify their hatred on a movie. They do this yet praise movie monstrosities such as X-Men 3.

I didn't have any expectations for X-Men 3, in fact I didn't really follow its development, I just watched it and hated it.

well said. people who say x-men 3 is better then superman returns really need to see both these movies again. imo superman returns was great but even if you did not like it, it is still a much better movie the x-men 3. I guess the biggest difference between the two movies is about the 20 percent score difference they recieved on rotten tomatoes.

I think the fundamental difference between SR and X3 is that SR represented one director's vision, over which he had complete control and really drove it home. X3 was the studio's vision, a story crafted in such a fashion taht would ebst suit the studio's wishes. The director was just a coordinator, without any real interest in the story.

As I said in other thread, I would rather have a mediocre movie in which somebody really poured their heart instead of pretty ok movie that was made just for the sake of taking my money (and X-men 3 is not even that good).

I learned that Bryan Singer doesn't know how to director action er okay I learned that from the X-films.

I learned that crazed Superman fans (I'm not talking about all or even most) like to watch the exact same movie that came out over 20 years ago if it has purty special effects.

That fans don't seem to understand the nuances of subtlty.
*You can't abandon a child you don't know exist.
*That Superman left their family intact in spite of how he felt... the noble thing to do.
* Lifting New Krypton into orbit almost killed him.
*Lex Luthor's plan was about controlling Kryptonian technology, not a land scheme.
*Just because he's Superman doesn't mean he doesn't have wants , needs or has to be an emotionless drone, despite what certain fans think.

I also learned you can make a long movie without much dialogue or action in it.
