I have five marks against me. Two profile warnings, three infractions.

The first one was for using bad language towards a mob, my own buddie, Batman

First Infraction was when I posted a middle finger picture. That one kinda ticked me off because I was getting infracted about six months after I posted the pic

Then I got a profile warning and infraction for a "homophobic slur." This was a big misunderstanding from some ass**** I thought was my friend. I was joking around with him about his new avatar. Said "Nice avatar, homo." And he reported me. I had a proby band for about a week.

Then the last time I was infracted was a few months ago. A guy in a thread was playing 21 questions, asking and asking and asking questions and I snapped at him and he reported me.

So, three infractions and two profile warnings. Yeeeah, I'm not mod material.

What is your least favorite word?
Not really one word I hate, I just really dislike popular words that spring up and are used too often. Stuff like "Grass Roots' when the TEA Party was starting up, or "Synergy."

Horns by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son. Pretty good book

recommend a book to us.

I know you said a book, but I want to do two and break it down by fiction and non-fiction.

For non-fiction, you have to go with Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets by David Simon. It's a very good book, a fine piece of embedded journalism. Simon follows the members of the Baltimore Homicide Unit for one calender year and observes the detective's and their cases, triumphs, and failures. All the while he reports on the day to day stories, he takes time and reports on the condition of an America city caught up in a drug war it is clearly losing. If you consider yourself a fan of non-fiction, you gotta read this one.

And with fiction, one of my favorite detective novels is L.A. Confidential by James Ellroy. It's an epic crime story told from the pov of three very different detectives. It's just interesting to see the L.A. of the post-war era and the crime and corruption of the LAPD, all seen through the three different characters. Cases overlap, stories intertwine and the book's climax sets up an epic showdown that should have taken place in Ellroy's follow up novel, White Jazz, but it falls short in that book. Still, check out L.A. Confidential if you can.

what's an obstacle you've overcome or a significant event in your life that has impacted you greatly?
I have a case of social anxiety, it gets really bad sometimes. During my time working as a reporter, I've had to overcome my fear several times. Even if it's a stupid fear like talking to someone, it can be crippling sometimes. I still fight it every day, but I like to think I can win out more times than I lose.

if you could go on any game show, which would it be?
Jeopardy!

who is your favorite marvel character?
Daredevil. Superheroics, Catholic guilt, legal drama, and ninjas all rolled into one.

dc character?
Batman. Like I said earlier, the movie was huge when I was little and I grew up on the animated series. I am a ****ing bat-fanatic, baby.

video game character?
Nathan Drake.

first video game you remember playing?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the NES

favorite film pre 1975?
The Godfather II

scariest movie you've ever seen?
First time I ever watch Exorcist. I was 10 and it freaked the hell(pun intended) outta me.

While I keep an open mind about all things supernatural, I have to say no. The new house I'm living in groans and creaks like a mother****er, but I have yet to see a spirit accompany those noises.

Ever thought you saw a UFO?
I thought I did one time....but some men in dark suits came to my house and assured me it was a weather balloon, nothing more. They seemed like nice follows for such heavily armed men and they wouldn't lie.

One of my favorite assignments was covering my hometown's city council meetings. This was during a period when the mayor had been in office for nearly 20 years and people were pissed about how he was doing things, all the council members included. Every meeting was tense, and filled with a bunch of fighting and backlash. He was voted out of office soon after, but those meetings were crazy. People complaining, protesting, the cops having to escort people out of the meetings. I always kept a camera handy in case a fight was going to break out.

if you could interview anyone, who would it be? why?
Living or dead? If it's all time, I choose Harry Truman. One of my favorite presidents, I think I would enjoy talking to him.

Currently living people, I'd say I'd want to interview Denis Leary. One of my favorite comedians, I love his rants and stand up bits.

Did you have a load of the merchandise for the film, like the action figures?
I used to. Had every Batman and Batmobile toy you could possibly want. One of the downsides to getting all of that as a kid is that I tore most of it up and it's all gone now. Wish I would have had a mind to keep some of it.

Did you have to google to find 'fatboy'?

Has a movie ever made you cry? If so, which one(s)?
I know this will sound cheesy, but Angels in the Outfield. At the end after it's been revealed that Tony Danza's character has like a year to live and he's pitching the championship game. He's go one out left and he's out of gas and Danny Glover comes to the mound. He says "I got nothing left." And Glover says "Yeah, you do. You got an angel with you and you got one strike left."

Then the whole crowd stars flapping their arms like angel wings. Goddamn, even thinking about it now is making me get a bit emotional.

What's an underrated film in your opinion? Comic and non comic.
Underrated comic film is probably Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. It is a fun little movie, I hate hate that it didn't do as well as it should have.

Underrated non-comic film would be last year's A-Team movie. Another good movie that didn't get the success it deserved. I have no idea why critics trashed it and it did mediocre at the box office. It was a damn good movie, faithful to the show, and **** blew up. What more could you ask of a movie based on the A-Team show?

Current band would probably be Avenged Sevenfold. I'm a fan of their music, and it'd be getting a free show every night.

Another band from another era would probably be the Rolling Stones back in their prime. I cannot think of one bad Rolling Stones song, I love those guys. Plus, think of the parties!

Guitar Hero by default. It's the only one I've played and that was one time.

Maury. I don't give a **** about a new car, I just want to find out once and for all if that baby is mine or not.

What is more important, to be loved or to love?
To love. You can try to be loved all you want to, but it doesn't mean **** if you don't love yourself. Like the Beatles said, the love you make is equal to the love you take. You don't give anything, you don't get anything in return.


What has been your biggest dream that you have fulffilled?
So far, I've had a chance to reach some of my personal career goals over the past few years. I always wanted to be a sports reporter for a newspaper, and I got my chance. I used to watch baseball games, pretending to call the game and I got my chance to call baseball games on the radio. Probably the game was the biggest dream. Nothing like being on live radio to jack up your adrenaline level.


Is equality a concept you subscribe to?
Yes. Although I am biased or prejudiced at times, we all are to some extent. You cannot tell me there is one person who takes some as is on face value alone, our bias and prejudice effect our every day lives. But yeah, I treat everyone fair and equally the best I can. If someone is an a***hole, I don't give a damn what color, sex, or religion they are. They're a straight up a**hole.


Do you believe in Liberty and if so, do you think it counter acts equality in some ways?
I believe in Liberty, and I love Liberty. Free will is the cornerstone to democracy. I can't think of how Liberty and equality counter act. There are some dumbasses who use their Liberty to preach hate and intolerance. Those people are in the slimmest minority and I wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire.

Have you seen the Thor movie and what did you think?
Haven't seen it yet, but I plan to once it's released here in the states.

That is a toughie. I wouldn't go for Batman. As much as I love the character, I don't think I can write him well. I'd probably have to go with The Question. I love writing detective stories and I could do that, as well as pepper in some off-beat humor wackiness that comes with a character like Q

For Marvel it'd be Fantastic Four. I've love to do a crazy space/science adventure with the FF.

I know I give you **** about him, but he's not a bad character. If you've looked what's been done with him over the years, he's been through some **** and has come out as a better character for it. Namor may be stronger, but he's always the same monarchistic jerk-wad in everything I've ever read. Aquaman has a family, and of course the JLA has got his back.
