Amare should be a positive influence... And Melo, considering he was supposedly one of the people pushing D'Antoni to give him a shot, COULD be one too. They should look to run predominantly pick-n-roll based offense using 'Melo 1. as a second option, 2. when he has mismatches and 3. feeding him at times to just keep him involved throughout.
While Lin has had a lot of time and space to play with in these games, it's still pretty frightening seeing what he's done in the pick'n'roll game with Tyson Chandler when they still have Amare to come back...
Amare as a SF? Well, he don't rebound or play defense anyway so, why not? Sure, he wont be able to keep up with faster SF's, but, then it doesn't matter cuz he don't play defense anyway.
LOL, I know man....totally agree Doc Samson
Its crazy. The Jazz, Wizards, Nets & Lakers. I mean seriously. They have the Heat this month though, we'll find out a little more then...
Well, here are some of the reasons why I cut Lin alot of slack:
1) Lin has been winning without the two superstars on their team, each of whom commands 18 mil per season (Lin's salary: 700K).
2) Both Melo & Amare together have not made their team competitive in their division, and they were 8-15 when Lin took over. If you dismiss Knicks' winning streak due to the teams they faced during that streak, how would you characterize Melo & Amare for their absymal record sans Lin?
However, by no means I'm ready to anoint Lin as the next Nash, Williams, Paul, or Westbrook, but I just think that he has largely been overlooked due to his ethnicity, and it's great to see that he's proving the critics wrong with his skills and tenacity.
I agree he definitely was overlooked because of ethnicity but by the same token he's being overhyped by ethnicity. This isn't a new phenomenon, just a few months ago people were ready to anoint Jimmer & Rubio. Once upon a time Adam Morrison, Redick, Jason Williams, so on and so forth. Im just saying let the guy beat a team that's actually good first.
Well, I'm not going to argue about that, and I also think 5 games is a small sample size to determine whether Lin is a future All-Star or a flash in the pan. And he still hasn't played with neither Melo nor Amare yet, not to mention his coach D'antoni imo just isn't a great head coach and should've been fired long time ago. Well, we'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
