I think David Stern's excuse for vetoing the CP3 trade is nothing short of bogus. How is cancelling this trade make the Hornets more valuable, anyway? Paul already said he won't sign an extension with the Hornets, and once he leaves without been dealt to a team, the organization will have nothing in the end. At least with this trade, they'd have Odom, who is a pretty decent player and a 7-footer. This is just a case of a bunch of jealous owners who didn't want to see Lakers get CP3.

Odom with an 8mil team option next year that they would have a hard time justifying exercising? That odom?

Celts just swapped Big Baby for Bass in Orlando.

No matter how they spin it, the veto was about stopping a big name player from forcing his way from a small market to a large market.

The owners wanted that changed with the lockout and then a few days after the lockout ends ... a player is forcing his way to a large market.

I wonder if they would have stopped Paul going to the Knicks.

Orlando has amnestied (is that even a ****ing word?) Agent Bang Bang.

I'm stunned.

Well, If they ended up making money off it (which they wouldn't have if the L.A. trade went down) then maybe.

I'm stunned.

Why?

They been saying they was gonna do that as soon as they found out the Amnesty clause was in the new CBA. I believe it was put in specifically for him.

That was feigned surprise, good sir; overflowing with sarcasm.

Ohhhh, well then Sarcasm achieved. :o

30 points for Griffindore.

Yeah, but he played better. And they'd have a better chance of moving him (Which is still virtually slim to none) than they would have moving Arenes.

Basically & it's so transparent. It's pretty sad shiz & that's why they're getting ripped from all angles.

They can still get the deal done but they'll end up having to give up a lot more, maybe even take on a few bad contracts or two.

What? Giving up both Gasol & Odom isn't enough?

Nope. The big problem wasn't so much the Lakers getting Paul, it was the 21 million they were gonna shave off the cap. 21 Million they could use to go after Howard.

Just heard a sound-byte from Odom and he sounded really upset and sad. Its just all awkward now.

What we know about Lamar Odom: came to the practice facility, met w/Mitch Kupchak, & left shortly after. Is not practicing.

Whole thing really hurt him. He played his ass off last year and they were gonna just dump him like so much garbage. When he finally does come back, (and he will) he's probably gonna go back to his old wishy washy self......or maybe it'll be a nice storyarch for the show.

That and the Hornets taking on 15M+ in salary this season and near 50M over the next 3.

Supposedly, he showed up late, talked to Kupchak and went home.

Did the NBA consider what this move would do for the Kardashians? Imagine them having to do it from New Orleans?

Yeah, it really hurts the team morale there because not only does it make Odom feel bad, but anyone else who wants to stay and thinks that they won't be traded is probably feeling insecure about just how much the team values their services.

Its one thing if this happens behind closed doors, but for it to be made public and then retracted afterward, it really makes the league look bad because now people are more focused on what could have been and why it isn't.

Well trade talks have resumed for the Lakers, Hornets, and Rockets
