Im in the Sports media industry and I work closely with the Brooklyn Sports Entertainment who own the Barclays Center on a campaign with us right now. And you are right, the play is all about Brooklyn and bringing the sports culture back to a borough that used to be known for it.

Yes Brookyln was known for pro sports teams playng in that region way back in the day. I know Brooklyn had pro football and baseball teams, but have they had a pro basketball team in Brooklyn before or even hockey?

Its not simply about a basketball or hockey team...They want to make Barclays the staple for say major boxing fights, tennis matches, etc..

No real prominent basketball team there in their history, but there was a NHL team back in the 1941 season called the Brooklyn Americans. however, they did not play in Brooklyn it was at MSG

I know they had 2 baseball teams aswell, the Dodgers and Giants. Dono if had any pro football teams though. But still seems like they are trying to bring back major sports and events to the area.

I know the man is thirty something but it's still Tim Duncan! Jesus christ, that might've been some of the easiest looks he's had his whole career in that first half. Lakers better tighten up, how many pick and rolls you going to be fooled by?

Bynum for some reason is not stepping out on the pick

I think he thinks someone is going to cover his spot when he goes to help, and eventually he gets frustrated and stops going to help. The same thing happened last year against the Mavs.

Well, if you can't trust your teammates.....

That's why the Bulls are so damn good defensively. If you don't cover your big man when he steps out on a pick, you get Thibs foot in your ass. :o

Very ugly loss by the Lakers, and as a fan I'm definitely concerned. I'm not very confident that they can held on to the #3 seed, unless they can win the next two, but I think even more important than the homecourt advantage is that the team must figure out how to solve its problems quickly before the playoff starts. Otherwise, it'd hard for me to see Lakers getting pass either Spurs or Thunder in the playoff.

Someone needs to take the Bobcats away from MJ. 19 straight losses? Geez.

How the hell is MJ such a sh***y basketball exec? He's one of the greatest to ever play the game but still can't evaluate talent.

^ I do not think MJ ever knew how to scout talent, I mean the man got pissed off when they let Charles Oakley go for Horace Grant, you see how that played out as Grant helped them out more than Oakley.

Just because people can play the game doesn't mean they know s*** about it.

Often a lot of these guys relied very heavily on their talent and had little understanding of the game itself at various levels.

The Bobcats are tanking for Sergeant Unibrow. They started a little early when they traded Wallace and Jackson last year for free delivery orders at Papa John's. It's better to suck hard and hope to score big in the draft rather than topping at a fringe playoff team where your reality is a annual first round thrashing.

Of course, they're kinda taking advantage of the situation. I don't see how a competitive sociopath like Jordan deals on the regular.

Wow, Ron Artest can change his name to Jesus of Nazareth if he wants to, it still doesn't change the fact he's a big thug.

Just as I was about to commend the Lakers on the energy level they brought to the game today....we have a Ron Artest sighting. At the wrong time too, because he was playing well :csad:

As he should. At first, I thought he was just celebrating and Harden flopped. Then they showed that replay, and it's pretty cut and dry.

Now that I think about it, in "World Peace's" mind, he may have been trying to retaliate for the elbow he caught earlier from Ibaka, or perhaps the jawing Harden was doing in their last meeting. In any case, it wasn't necessary, and completely out of bounds.

You can practically see the crazy dripping off his face.

There's always the possibility that he was just celebrating, thought Harden was getting in his face (because he is that much of a f*** up) and cracked him while he was there.

Or do I need to roll off a list of f***ed up idiotic anecdotes I've heard about Ron Artest to show just how possible that was how his f***ed up brain assessed the situation*.

* My personal favourite is the time that he was hours late to a training with the Bulls because he couldn't fit his truck under a bridge.

Now thats the effort I'm talking about! Win or lose, they played with heart today. And the Mamba, I can't keep saying it, but that's what the greatest do, take the shots and live with the results.
