Oh that's definitely a hate on Kobe post. But to answer your question, in the illustrious words of Jim Kelly from Enter the Dragon, He was too busy looking good :oldrazz:

Seriously though, if he hadn't come out aggressive, then it would be a Game 7 against Phoenix situation all over again from '06 when people criticized him for not shooting enough. At this point in his career, at this point in the series, I'm pretty sure he didn't give a f**k about getting an assist, and given the body language of Pau & Bynum, neither did I.

I couldn't care less about Kobe to hate on him. I just think it's amazing to go a whole game without recording an assist. It could've been any player and I would ask the same question.

I'm pretty sure if it was anyone else, you wouldn't say anything about it but either way they were going home regardless. Russell Westbrook being the "PG" and only having 4 assists is more head scratching to me, honestly.

33 shots...42 points.

Not so impressive people, and 0 assists

Kobe is just a scorer

You guys are reaching man. He hit 18 of those 33 shots. That's over 50% shooting, your not getting 40+ points without shooting the ball lmao, it doesn't matter who it is, unless your getting phantom calls to the tenth degree.

On the other hand, 28 shots for 25 points and 4 assists isn't impressive at all for a PG. But I guess it's ok.

Yeah, I'm calling Spurs in 5 as well. I may not like SA, but I do respect them and their organization.

Sure I would. You think Kobe is the only that gets a bad rap? How many times has Lebron had a monster game and his team loses and he gets the blame? Everytime. Oh, but Lebron doesn't have rings and Kobe does making him immune to criticism.

Not with me, I just defended Lebron a few pages back, they both get unfair criticism but it's not fair to either of them to overcompensate for that criticism by bashing the other guy any chance you get.

And TBH, they get beat on strictly because of the "Jordan Myth", as I like to call it. In fact, every single great wing player from now on will get the same treatment. To me, Kobe already has more offensive ability, skill-wise, than Jordan had. Not more efficient, more skilled. Easily. And Lebron is a better all around player than either one of them when he wants to be, he's just not better in the clutch consistently, and hasn't shown the same relentless will. Yet.

But the media and fans with revisionist history have created a Myth that's not only disrespectful to the new generation of players, but the ones who came before MJ as well. If you subscribe to that myth, then Jordan never missed a game winner, never shot poorly, always guarded the other teams best player, always made the right pass, always did everything. Meanwhile, Scottie Pippen was just some guy Jordan created himself, Dennis Rodman was just insane, Ho Grant, Harper, Kukoc, Kerr, Armstrong & Paxson were more lab rats who just wandered into a few rings, made by Michael. And Phil Jackson just got lucky to be entrusted with it all and not screw it up.

Believe me, it doesn't matter who it is, they'll get the same treatment forever, in this new internet, 24 hr Sports climate. If Durant wins this year, for the rest of his career he'll be overly picked apart to find the flaws, to make sure nobody gets close to the gold standard that can never be replicated.

Not really, OKC stars can create their own shots in the half court set. Westbrook gets a lot of his ast in the transition/fastbreak offense. He gets some in the half court set, but he mostly set up the offense and pass the ball around. Harden gets most of the assist in the half court set. So, I'm not surprise Westbrook only got 4 ast.

Jordan was a better leader and a better all around player, maybe not as skilled as Kobe, but skill means nothing if you can't channel it properly. Not that Kobe can't....but Jordan always knew how to use his skill better. Jordan was also a far better leader than Kobe.

Beyond that, Kobe brings the criticism on himself. If he'd shut the **** up and not act like a goon in press conferences, people would be more forgiving. How many teammates has Kobe pulled this **** with (and don't think that morale isn't a factor)? Turnabout is fair play. He brings this scrutiny on himself.

Yeah, whatever dude. He didn't get number six this year. He likely never will. And the Lakers are gone. So, can we please let this asinine conversation die?

OKC is back in the conference finals. Can they beat the Spurs?

I think they can but no matter who wins, this thing is going the 7 game limit. I'd say it's 60/40 in the Spurs favor. They're more experienced but their age is a problem considering they're going up against a much younger team.

Anubis, last year, the same was said about the Spurs, and look at them now. Kobe will have a few more shots at it. BTW, Spurs in 5.

After Bynum's display of indifference in the press conference, I'm not sure if I want him to continue to be a Laker for a long time. If they can trade him for Howard or another young star, I won't be opposed to it.

This is more of that Myth at work here. If anything, MJ was more of an A-hole than Kobe has ever been. This is the same guy who punched Steve Kerr, disrespected Bill Cartwright during games and made fun of him in the locker room. So much so in fact, that he threatened Pippen and Grant that if they passed the ball to Cartwright, he wouldn't pass it to them. He called Kwame Brown a "Flaming F*****" publicly for pete's sake, I mean, is that leadership?

Jordan wasn't a great leader, in the traditional sense, anymore than Kobe is. He wasn't giving locker room speeches or huddling guys up together on the floor to talk strategy, you hardly ever saw him speak to anyone on the team unless he was yelling at them or glaring in someone's direction after a mistake. Derek Fisher is more of a leader in those terms which was illustrated yesterday before OKC's game.

The Bulls looked to Michael for leadership on the court, to score and defend and dominate. But the men around him were self motivated individuals. When he retired the first time, they only lost two more games then the previous season, his teams were great, and get no respect. The same respect players of today and even those before, don't seem to get at the expense of MJ. It's the only reason people rail on Kobe and Lebron, people just need to appreciate what they do as individuals.

Bynum is who he is, I'm sick of hearing about him "maturing" over time. He's been in the league long enough to know what is right and wrong in terms of dealing with the media. He said what he said yesterday on purpose, because he thinks he's "the man." So...let him go prove it, that's how I feel about it.

Howard has no post moves and a worst passer between the two.

The problem with Bynum that even if we take out the maturity issue, he is still maddenly inconsistent (the Denver series, for instance), and aside from this year he also has been injured every year so who knows if he will stay healthy next season. He may be 24 but he has been in the league for 7 years, and instead of growing up and becoming a leader, he seems to be regressing more and more like he just came into the league. Considering the money that Lakers is paying him, I think we can demand a little more from him.

I'm going to predict this. Spurs win game 1. Spurs win game 2, but during game 2(or possibly 3), Westbrook does his best AI impression and the coach tries to talk to him gently, play team ball. He loses it and continues to do his best Kobe thing and bam! They lose the game. I'm going to say they win one in OKC but that's it. Westbrook is going to come back and bite them in this series. He really has been a jock against the Lakers and Mavericks and they really haven't needed Durant to lead them in those series but against the Spurs, Durantula has to play big if they have any chance. I believe he's going to try but they should have shortened the leash on Westbrook earlier because I don't see him stop jocking now.

Anybody see Wade and Lebron crying to the media about Granger? Wade is the same player who ran full speed and tackled Colison from behind(the same play got Smith two games for doing it to Blake but Wade only got a T)but yet they are whining about Granger? Then they wonder some people are anti-Heat. They really need mentoring in the NBA. :whatever:

Bynum needs to go. He's a cancer.

That tub of lard with a brain of a 6 year old is really lucky he has an upside.
But does this brat not like the Lakers or just basketball in general?!? He looks like a lost cow out there.

He does not play basketball with enough heart. Freakin' Nazi Muhammad pump faked and dunked the ball past Bynum while he just stuck his hand out there. Yeah, great intensity in an elimination game.

No, hes staying im afraid, Gasol's gonna go.

Laskers need a scorer who is fearless, which is what they greatly lacked in this series.
