Brady just tied Joe Montana with 16 career postseason wins and will soon join John Elway as the only quarterbacks to start five Super Bowls. That's what proves he is the best.

Elway will always be the greatest to me.

Whoopdie doo. Tom Brady is playing in an era so geared toward offense that it's ridiculous. Thanks to the rule changes no QB from this era will be the greatest in my eyes.

Elway will always be the greatest to me.

Personally I'm a Marino guy. I think he was the most talented anyway. That being said, all of the talent in the world means nothing if you can't win. Thus, the best is probably Montana. That said....if Brady wins one more, he will be at the top, IMO.

I just saw Ray Lewis' interview after the Ravens/Pats game. Dude tried so hard not to throw Cundiff under the bus. But facts are facts. The guy missed a crucial SHORT field goal. He lost the damn game for them, regardless of Ray's spin.

Of course. I was talking more about pure skill. Elway to the Broncos in the 80s is like what Peyton Manning is for the Colts now. Elway almost single handedly took terrible Broncos teams the Super Bowl. I really feel as though if he was on a team like the Dolphins or 49ers he would have won more Super Bowls.

He's one of the few QBs who was as great scrambling as he was in the pocket.

Yeah, I'm usually pretty torn between Marino and Montana. Joe won the championships and Marino broke the records. I'd say I lean more toward Montana though.

And both are from the Pittsburgh area. :woot::oldrazz:

So how many more years do the Ravens have as their window is closing fast?

If we're doing this "What If" stuff. If the refs would have called the penalty of the Broncos in Overtime...the Steelers could have gotten the ball...scored...met the Patriots...BEAT the Patriots...then BEAT the Ravens and it would be the Steelers vs. Giants in the Super Bowl!

See what I did there? :oldrazz:

Not the same... refs miss calls all the time...

Easily dropped interceptions happen occasionlly, and caught balls with your helmet happen once in a generation.

While both teams played a tough game in SB 42, if you take away the "helmt catch" and/or the "dropped interception" the prior play, both on the final game winning drive, and the Pats win the game...

Yes, they might have been playing to their full potential.... both teams played a great game, but those were flukey plays that played a pivotal role in the outcome of the game.
Yes, so you said it there yourself; the Giants played great.

They have the potential to be a great team, and have played up to that level at various times in the past few years.

Was luck involved? Absolutely. But there was luck involved with the Rams getting to the Super Bowl - I don't hear many people complaining about it. There was luck involved with The Immaculate Reception. There was at least a little bit of luck involved with The Catch. Luck plays a very big part in sports. And, generally, the really great teams, and the really great moments, are made in large part due to that luck.

Montana was the best QB ever... an the fact that his career was cut short by the Giants gives me even more reason to hate them...

QB stats in the 80s ive read are more impressive because of the D, which Laughs at today's D, and NFL was a RB's/FB's league.

You sore, bro? You judge someone based on the era they play in not based on eras past. Brady is the best QB of this era, and always will be probably. That doesn't take away from Montana.

I've never understood disregarding a players accomplisments just because you don't like them or their team.

I agree with you in a way, tho. Hank Aaron will always be the greatest baseball player to me IMO. I don't care that Barry Bonds passed him with home runs. But at the same time they played in different eras of the game so I don't disregard Bonds accomplishment. Its the same with Babe Ruth. He is a legend for what he did in his era.

Questionable comment considering the Colts' performance without Manning this year compared to the Patriots' performance without Brady a few years ago.

Rematch between Pats/Giants. Gonna be a good game. Not sure who I am gonna pick, yet.

I'm not sure what your point is?

For the record I'm on high power narcotics atm for a gun shot wound so some things are going over my head lol.

Yeah but Peyton Manning doesn't play defense. There were more problems than just QB in Indy.

I'm saying Manning has less to work with than Brady. One team went from great to still pretty decent without their QB. The other one went from perennial playoff team to being dead last in the league and owning the #1 Draft pick. This year more than any other proves just how great Manning is IMHO.

I'm not sore at all actually. I would say Brady is the best of this era, but that's not the same as being the best ever. To me Brady and all QBs have it too easy now.

They also had to convert a 4th and 1, and anther 3rd and 14 in that same drive....which they somehow inexplicably lucked out with a run and a pass to the sideline.

Man when you look at the game-winning kick...huge props to Weatherford taking the low snap and getting it up in time for Tynes to put it through.

Oh gotcha.:woot:

I love Joe Montana as much as the next bay area kid, but one more ties Brady with the greats who have won for 4 Bowls. He has a 16-0 season, 50 TDs in a season and a 5000 yard season. So he'd have the wins of Montana and the ridiculous record crushing talent of Marino. And he only had a deep threat like 3 years out of all his whole career. Yeah, I'd say one more seals it for him.

You do some searching on the net tonight, you'll see some irate fans referring to Cundiff, but adding a T to his last name, if you get me. :o
