2011 NFL Thread: The Lazarus Season - Part 2

I'm done talking about it (though not done responding), but when we reach the end of the season and Stafford has 4,500 yards and case for NFL MVP you will see that I was right. I would love to see him get a chance at your Ravens in Indianapolis.

If you recollect Norm, you & I agreed weeks ago that Stafford was going to have a monster year, although the chances of him making MVP are rather slim. In any case, it goes back to my point that regardless of how much credit I've given Stafford, & I have given him quite a bit including agreeing that he definitely has the potential to be one of the best in the league, you take it as a personal affront because he isn't given that 'Elite' status.

lulz, just dial it down a notch, the air's not so thin a little further down the mountain.:awesome:

:) Panthers!!!! I wonder how close game will be? I think Green Bay pulls away in second half...

Id like to see Stafford play a full season and then have this conversation again

Maybe Carolina will go from being the doormats of the NFC South to an actual contender this year, this game is an ideal chance to see how far they've progressed.

Speaking of vomit, I'm surprised no one else has commented on the monumental pile of shiz that is Tedy Bruschi & these old man rants he's been letting loose lately. I mean, the guys always been a total tool but he's elevating his game here lately.

I thought he was seriously out of line with the stuff about Chad....what , youre mad because a guy is excited about another players performance?? reallly?

Exactly, but Bruschi's always been this kind of tool, so I wasn't exactly shocked. Guy reeks of bitter, he really hates the fact that an outspoken guy is in that precious Patriots uniform.

The Cincinnati Bengals have already announced that next week's home game will be blacked out.

Might have to see if I can find dirt-cheap tickets. If they're announcing it this early, ticket sales must have been extremely low.

You should try posing that question to lil Tedy. When he's out there saying that seeing guys like that in HIS uniform after he's left the game 'disturbs' him, not to mention the rest of the crap he's been on about, it's nothing but pure tool.

that sucks....thats why I love where I live....no NFL teams, no blacked out games

I don't take anything here as a "personal affront", I know what I know and that's what I know.

By stormin's "Logic" Bradford, Newton and Clausen are elite.

Haha, no. Not at all.

I like how Norm has two levels:

Very very very very very very veryy good

and

Elite.

There is a difference between very good and elite. It's the difference between Pro Bowl and All Pro, Ring of Fame and Hall of Fame.

Stafford isn't elite. Or anywhere near it. The only "elite" QBs are Brady, Manning and i'd say Rodgers over Brees.

Stafford can be a better QB than Aaron Rodgers. He is not yet, but he can be.

Hey we arent always the vomit on the floor! Just the last 2-3 years or so :p. And no we wont compete this year to be frank. We have the hardest schedule in the league this year, and we lost Jon Beason who anchors our defense. Plus, Newton is still just a rookie. I say next year we may start competing again though. We went in 2 years from 1-15 once to the Super Bowl afterl all :p.

Agreed. Bruschi is a tool and I'm getting tired of the everyone knobslobbering over "The Patriot Way." Good God, people act like Belichick and his coaching philosophy are some sort of moral compass for the rest of the league. Yeah, let's sweep those five or six years of cheating under the rug, shall we? Seriously, it's as if people act like it never happened. I'm not saying that Bill isn't a great coach and the Pats aren't an exceptional team... but seriously, the NFL, Bruschi and the 5 billion football analysts out there seriously need to stop acting like the Patriots are so friggin' righteous.

five or six years of cheating? really....I was reading a coherent post and then that hunk of dogs*** drops

most everyone does it....they just got caught and admitted to it

happens in most every professional sport

Maybe so... but it's still against the rules and I don't buy that Belichick in all his infinite football wisdom simply didn't know that. I'm not one of those people who thinks that the Pats should be stripped of their Super Bowl titles or anything (and there are some people who do), I'm just saying that they got caught breaking the rules and it's annoying that everyone treats them like they are somehow morally superior to the rest of the league.

You clearly didn't watch the game. The Lions dominated the Bucs without even opening up its offense.

So that proves the Lions are an elite team? I'm sorry, that proves nothing. I am not saying this is the same old Lions. I do think they Lions are a GOOD team. But, you're saying they're a GREAT team, which they have yet to prove at this juncture. Elite teams are teams that win 12 or more games. I just don't see the Lions winning that many. I am seeing 10 wins for the Lions tops this year. I also think the NFC North will end up being between the Packers and Bears again. Lions are on the up swing, yes. But elite? I'm sorry, jury is still out on that. I won't salivate over them because they beat the Bucanneers.

Most definitely but it's just been ramped up when they made the Golden Boy the first ever unanimous MVP. With that not even a year gone & Bruschi's idiocy, the self righteous circus rolls on and we all die a little inside.

Damn Brady is going for 29th straight home win, dude is filthy
