I was outside for a bit...did Suh get thrown out? lol

Yeah, he kicked one of the Packers in the head. It was a pretty blatant shot too. He may get suspended for a few games.

Nothing has changed. Lions are still terrible on Thanksgiving.

Heh. Well, they really weren't doing too bad there they just killed themselves with the penalties and then, of course, Stafford tossing two interceptions that have led to two touchdowns for the Packers. Then the Lions star defensive player being a poo face and kicking a guy in the head and getting ejected.

This game is ugly. Bad defense by Green Bay, who are benefitting by terrible calls. The Packers offense has been slow, and only turnover of game led to their short field.

As someone wanting to watch this, I hope both teams start playing better and the refs stop interfering. That roughing the QB call was just ridiculous.

Not watching the game at the moment, recording it, but stumbled on this post by habitually opening the thread...

I'm just assuming the refs are anticipating Suh being a dirty prick...

Another INT thrown by Stafford. This is just a joke now. Hopefully the Cowboys/Dolphins game is better and the Niners and Ravens game. :cmad:

Heh, I say that and it shoots me to the next page where he's apparently been ejected for more dirty play...

Called it!

Lions deserve this...I expected more out of them. Hope they get trounced even more for this effort and these lame penalties

That's a young guy with more passion & emotion than common sense. He's allowed his frustration to hurt his team but to be objective, you see it early in most guy's careers playing that position because you have to be wired a certain way just to play it.

That's an interesting way of putting it...

If Kevin Smith didn't get hurt they really might have had a chance.

I don't think Kevin Smith would have done too much more for them. They were killing themselves with penalties more than anything. In that first quarter they should have had AT LEAST one touchdown and a field goal.

Well that too. They needed to cut down on the penalties. This team seems really immature. From Schwartz and the Harbaugh incident, the numerous Suh allegations, and Stafford starting a fight with the Bears players. It's like they're trying to be the new Oakland Raiders from the 1970's.

I wonder if Suh has such a lack of emotional control in every day life?

I see no difference between Suh style of play and Warren Sapp in his early years. I'm told by members of my family Joe Green was pretty nasty as well. You have to be a different kind of person to play DT Nobody really remembers the nice guys at that position.

A LOT of those Steelers defensive players in the 70's were really dirty, it's how they won 4 Superbowls and why they are the Steel Curtain. Of course it was a lot easier to be dirty back then than it is now. You sneeze at the QB and you get a penalty anymore.

Yeah, pretty much what I said.

Not only is that par for the course for a good DT, it's basically a requirement to be wired that way; a pitbull on a spider silk leash. Thing is, as he progresses & gains some experience, he'll learn to channel that ruthless aggression in ways that don't end up kicking his team in the nads.

Warren Sapp never kicked a player when he was down if I recall or made comments like "get the cart" when someone was seriously injured. And I disagree with your last comment. There are plenty of guys who didn't get the label of being dirty that were still good defensive tackles. Bryant Young was one of them and I remember watching him growing up. The guy had a lot of class. Or John Randle and Merlin Olsen.

Yeah, you can play the position without being a total thug. There is a difference between being a tough, mean player (Warren Sapp) and being unable to establish the difference between professional football and UFC fighting. Suh is just a thug in pads. Sad part is, if it were Aaron Rodgers and not a lineman, Suh would be done for the season. Personally, I think that he should be benched for the year.
