Wow I thought Couver would pull it out but instead the Bruins just kept putting it in....the net.

It hurt because he doesn't have a Cup.............. :o

Going to the Winnipeg NHL Draft Party at the MTS Centre this Friday!

Hoping for the schedule to be released this week after the BOG approves the sale!

Could also be naming the head coach this week and then start signing some RFAs. Ladd was here recently, he wants to sign a long term deal since he's moved around a lot.

Busy month just gets busier for TNSE.

City of Boston said that yesterday's parade was over 1 million people. Larger than all the parades except for the Sox 04' WS win.

The Cup is certainly making the rounds since Thursday afternoon. Players have brought it to countless restaurants and bars, or just flat out walking around randomly down the street taking pics with fans and sharing the joy.

The team will also be honored before todays Red Sox game at Fenway as well.

I have to give it the Red Sox. They know how to do a pre-game ceremony.

Wtf, lucky. How'd you score tickets?

Scoring season tickets was lucky, getting tickets to the draft was pretty easy as I got them 10 minutes after they went on sale to the general public. Not an exclusive event or anything. One lucky person will win season tickets though, worth going just for that. I did think about driving to St.Paul but work is too busy right now to take a Friday off. There will be a large contingent of Winnipeggers driving down Friday for the weekend.

Someone did suggest that it would be a great way to reveal the name, having the lower bowl sold out, announce the Jets name and then pick number seven. If they don't use the Jets name and the name they do have is lame, they're will be "Go Jets Go" chants every game. Its just going to happen.

TSNE said they'll just have an NHL Shield jersey at the draft as they don't want knockoffs hitting the market until the merchandise inventory is large enough to go on sale . Of course they could just lie and surprise everyone this Friday.

Start a "Go Jets Go" chant no matter what the team name is. If they announce it as the Manitoba Polar Bears, Monarchs or Flood, riot like you're Vancouver and you just lost the cup. But yeah, exciting week for you guys. As soon as the sale is done you'll probably have Ladd signed, team name announced and an official coach all within the week. Ladd may take a bit longer but it sounds like he really wants to play there.

Bruins took Lord Stanley to Foxwoods Casino on Saturday night and rang up a $156,679.74 bar tab. Of course that also included a 30 Liter Bottle of Ace of Spades Midas Touch Champagne. Twice the size of what the Mavs got down in South Beach. Cost. $100,000. Flipping Bottle is the same size as the Cup.

Yeah.....here's some real hockey news!

The NHL draft order was released today!

  1. Edmonton Oilers
  2. Colorado Avalanche
  3. Florida Panthers
  4. New Jersey Devils
  5. New York Islanders
  6. Ottawa Senators
  7. Winnipeg Jets
  8. Columbus Blue Jackets
  9. Boston Bruins
  10. Minnesota Wild
  11. Colorado Avalanche
  12. Carolina Hurricanes
  13. Calgary Flames
  14. Dallas Stars
  15. New York Rangers
  16. Buffalo Sabres
  17. Montreal Canadiens
  18. Chicago Blackhawks
  19. Edmonton Oilers
  20. Phoenix Coyotes
  21. Ottawa Senators
  22. Anaheim Ducks
  23. Pittsburgh Penguins
  24. Detroit Red Wings
  25. Toronto Maple Leafs
  26. Washington Capitals
  27. Tampa Bay Lightning
  28. San Jose Sharks
  29. Vancouver Canucks
  30. Toronto Maple Leafs
Who will Edmonton pick?

RNH for sure, I'd be shocked if they picked otherwise. By securing a good prospective defenseman in the Penner trade, they're able to focus on doing what you should always do when you pick first overall; pick the absolute best guy available.

Haha, Boston has 9th pick. Good God, Toronto...

Yeah the wise choice is RNH. Defensive ability can be developed. Pure talent and skill are a rare commodity.

If I am Edmonton I go with Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. Could be a potential future bonanza of a #1 line with Taylor Hall.

Kid that really intrigues me is Gabriel Landeskog. Keep hearing future Captain being thrown around about him. Always a good sign.

And I hope like hell Ryan Murphy is still available at #9 when the Bruins pick. Seems like a solid puck mover on the back end.

It also doesn't hurt that the best player in the draft is a centre, which Edmonton actually does need. They need defensive help, but forwards tend to step in easier, and it's great for them that RNH is a forward, even if he doesn't exactly have a bulky body yet. I don't think Horcoff or Gagner are the guys to do it, and Brule definitely isn't. I'd be a bit surprised if Nugent-Hopkins immediately stepped into the first line as Hall's centre, but I think that's where he'll end up in 2012-13.

I'm really interested to see who picks up Rocco Grimaldi. Great goal scorer, really fast and strong, but only 5'6. High risk, high reward-type guy that'd go in the top 15 if he was 4-5 inches taller IMO. TSN has him at #23, I wouldn't be surprised if a team needing goal scoring picks him higher than that.

Well if there is one thing about the NHL post lock out, it's that smaller guys can succeed. Before it was little guys had to prove they could play and big guys had to prove they couldn't. I think more teams are willing to take on a guy like that so long as he has one thing going for him. And that is playing tough. It's one thing to be 5'6", but it's another thing to play like you're 5'6".

Haha I don't know if you quite get how short 5'6 is. He'd be the 2nd shortest in the NHL, out of almost 900 players. I absolutely wish him luck and certainly guys around that height have succeeded before (Theo Fleury for example, or Brian Gionta at 5'7) but he's still 2 inches shorter than Martin St Louis.

I think the new NHL is more beneficial to the 5'9-6'0 range, and players at 5'6 are going to have to work so hard to stay in the league at all, let alone make a difference.

Agreed. I was a Larsson fan at the beginning of the year, but watching Hopkins through out the year, the guy (offensively) is a carbon copy of Datsyuk. I still like Larsson but Iook at St.Louis who passed on Toews and Backstrom to draft a defender first overall and how it worked out for them...no thanks.

Plus at 19 some good dmen will still be available. I'm also interested to see what team jumps on the midget Grimaldi or the 6'7 giant Olesiak in the first round.

Please don't remind me, we also passed on Kane for Perron if I recall correctly. Hell we could have won the damn cup two years ago if we didn't draft so ****ing ******, can you imagine Backes on the same team as Kane and Toews? We don't even have a pick in this first round this year. 3 in the second and 2 in the third. Just draft as many damn forwards as you can Davidson.

Praying that Adam Larsson somehow falls to the Isles at 5, although I'd probably be happy with Dougie Hamilton too.

Kane was the #1 overall pick the year he got drafted. You never had a shot at him.

I'm not a big Hockey fan, but I enjoyed this years Stanley Cup Finals. Too bad game 7 didn't live up to the hype.

No need to be a dick about it, or rather dickish with your response is what I mean. I thought we drafted higher in '07 I stand corrected. We had two first round picks that year and should have traded up for some of the amazing talent that was in that draft. Instead we got Eller, who was traded and Perron who got laid out and prolly won't be the same player again.

Trust me, I know just how short 5'6" is. I'm not much taller. Theo Fluery and Gionta are 5'7" alright. On skates.
