24: Live Another Day - Part 2

Love this season.......
Anyone else mention...Was Jack contemplating suicide after Kate's call re. Audrey's death?....if so why?

That's what I thought. He did seem to pull the second gun out and look at it in a way where he's like "should I?" Obviously he was never gonna do it in a million years as Cheng was still alive at that point with literally no one else to stop him.

It lead to IMO one of the best 'Jack gets nuts' moments in 24 history. I still prefer his reaction when Renee got killed cause that pretty much set him off for the remainder of the season.

Jack probably WAS thinking suicide, but snapped out of it with the realization that Cheng needed to be stopped and dealt with... and also, it was Cheng who was responsible for what Audrey went thru when she was his prisoner a few years ago... so it all really came full circle with Jack cleaning the slate by going Samurai on Cheng...

and REALLY, what WAS a Samurai sword doing there?!?

as to your question of why, remember that it was Audrey who was Jack's significant other several years later after Teri, his wife, had died... and Jack never really stopped loving Audrey after he walked out of her life several years ago, of his own accord and at Heller's request...

Who cares why a Samurai Sword was there ? That was an awesome death

In the event of a zombie apocalpse?:cwink:

Because Cheng was...ummmmmm...a Samurai?

Yeah, I dunno?

besides, a thought just came to mind... Samurai is a Japanese thing, NOT Chinese...

I have a feeling the creative team know they're coming back for another season.

Why else would they cast one of the guys from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies as a Russian in the final moments of Monday's episode?

I thought it was actually to quick and in a way inexplicably merciful on Jack's part........given what Cheng had done to Jack's psyche i would think a slow and more painful death would be in order.. of course time was an issue i suppose.

well, at least Jack DID get to have a one-on-one with Cheng before lopping off his head...

Exactly what I was thinking. The guy is a fairly high profile actor in the UK and does pop up in some films occasionally to the point where it seemed odd he'd only be in this for 3 minutes when they could have got anyone.

Yup he definitely got in a good ole fashion whuppin'.......but I was more satisfied with how he dispatched Margot Al-Harazi......

They should have done the Austin Powers thing

Jack chops head off

"Im still alive Jack Bauer

Jack completely cuts him up into pieces

Im still here Jack Bauer

Jack finds a Noob Tube

Gets out of the room & blows it up & that does it

Damn it, NOoOoo! More torture for Jack with the russians now :csad:

Incredible finale! Jack and Belcheck infiltrating the ship was badass and I thought the way they played with Audrey's death was really well done, although I immediately thought "second shooter" when we saw Kate walking her back to her car.
You should have seen me watching this episode. I kept going back and forth: Kate will die! No, No, it's Audrey! lol. I thought everyone but Jack would die :oldrazz:

Great moments for sure. Loved the whole samurai sword bit. The way Jack disposed of the bad guys this season was epic lol.

Audrey's death was so sad, and Heller's words in the end were touching too. Fantastic moments. Great acting all around. Kieffer is beyond amazing, as usual. He's taken the character to a whole new level imo.

Bittersweet ending for me. I didnt want Jack to have a horrible end, but i guess this is open enough for another season. Jack needs to be rescued!! :cmad:

Amazing season. I loved it. They had better do another season after this. Don't tease me with one new season and stop!!!

You're damn right, I couldn't have said it better myself. Especially regarding the ticking clock. No other show makes me antsy over the ending. Like, the final break will happen and it will be like, "4:51" and I will get nervous and be like "Nine minutes left! What can happen!?!? Who is going to die! Blargh! I don't want it to end!" :funny:
Yes! I get nervous like that too. It was really bad with watching this finale. "What the heck... 20 minutes in and i still dont have answers... hurry, damn it!... "Everyone dies... i just know it!". All of this yelling it at the tv, of course. Whenever i hear the ti-*** ti-*** i get anxious :hehe:

I read it on another site ... Yeah, it is absurd but someone has suggested that Mark Boudreau could be the president in the next series!

Who knew about Boudreau being a traitor? Keller, Jack, Kate, the dead Russians? Not many people. So could the sick and distraught President Keller somehow give his support to Mark to become POTUS at a soon later date?

Stranger things have happened in the Jack Bauer universe!

I don't know how this could play out. We haven't seen the final episode here in Australia yet. But Mark Boudreau could run and get a lot of sympathy from the voters for losing his wife. If he were, somehow, to become president do you believe that he could be Jack Bauer's greatest ally? This would be a nice twist from some of the previous garbage who have served in the office. Also, did someone say that they saw a clip of a funeral in a previous post? How could this happen in the same 24-hour time period? Just wondering.

Trust me, Gort, the final episode debunks that theory. Lol
