I want a crossover where Jack works with Carrie Mathison. :awesome:

JACK IS BACK!... YES!... VERY GOOD NEWS!

but leave Kim Bauer out of it... :cmad:

Further details of the 24 revival have been revealed at the upfronts. The show will still run in real-time but will skip hours so that there's not as much filler/connective tissue as the original run.

"Live Another Day" will run for 12 weeks and keep its real-time format, but FOX Entertainment Chairman Kevin Reilly says it may skip hours here and there.

"As [executive producer Howard Gordon] would design the season, the spine of the 24 episodes was really about 12 hours. Those were where the big events occurred, and then there were little twists and connective tissue in between," Reilly told reporters on a conference call Monday (May 13). Each episode of "Live Another Day" will still unfold over the course of an hour, but viewers won't see as much of the in-between hours. "It may go 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 10 a.m.," Reilly says, depending on how the story comes together.

I wanted Renee Walker back but then I remembered :(

A large chunk of that extra 12 hours can be giving Jack time to do two things we never saw: Sleep and use a toilet. Then they can throw in another couple of him sitting in traffic somewhere or stuck at an unending red light.

And you know, the more I think of it, I think the 4 year break was really good for this show. Eventhough it will still be a continuation, it will still feel fresh and new, which is what the show really needed I think. As much as I loved it, the formula was getting a bit stale and some of the characterizations were getting way out of hand (Tony turning evil, President Taylor's sudden dark turn in season 8). I think what we need now is something absolutely brand new. Same Jack Bauer but brand new cast/ surroundings (no more CTU please) and fresh story. I'm sure there'll still be lots of references to the past but I would much rather look forward. I'm so stoked for this.

I was planning on doing a Rewatch of the Whole 24 franchise I guess I have a reason to start it now.

I watch redemption today on Netflix streaming an dI had placed season 7 for rental.I had been planning for awhile to rent Day 7 from netflix for awhile. This just gives me more reason to pull the rewatch of that season.

Wait, isn't the whole series available to stream??

All eight seasons appear to be streamable.

The good old days are officially back with Bauer power hours. Best TV news in a while. For me, Lost and 24 were 'it'.

Jack wouldn't have time for her whiny neurosis. In fact, the only reason she'd still be conscious is because Jack doesn't feel like carrying her. :o

:funny: Got to love those Jack Bauer sayings. There's a massive list of them. I should print them out.

This is glorious news. I've been getting into Homeland lately, and it makes me so happy that Gordon will be back for this. I'm curious to see what a post-Homeland 24 may look like. TV has just been getting progressively better and better. I'd love to see if they can take this show up another notch.

Even if not though, it'll just be damn good to have Jack back. There are so many moments on Homeland where I'm just like, "where the hell is Jack Bauer when you need him!???"

There really aren't many people from the original series who could come back and help Jack out. The most obvious ones are Kim, Chloe, Morris, and possibly Tony. As for past partners of Jack, I can think of only 3 who are still alive, but in varying physical conditions. Freddie Prinze Jr.'s Cole Ortiz was left intact but I'm not sure how many actually cared for him. There's Mike Doyle (Rick Schroeder) from S6 but I'm not sure if he could be active again after his injuries from the exploding box. Finally, there's Chase Edmunds (James Badge Dale), who I wouldn't mind bringing back after seeing him again in IM3 but could still be too injured to return.

Since they're continuing from where they left off, Jack Bauer will probably hunting down spy drones lol

I doubt it is going to be too convoluted in the show's mythology. I think Fox will want this to be accessible. Only returning characters that I can foresee are Jack, Chloe and maybe Tony. There may be some passing references to other characters (like President Taylor, but she definitely won't appear considering how bitter things got between Jones and the producers). Kim will probably be referenced but I doubt she'll be on the show (especially since the 12 hour format is designed to trim the fat which is exactly what Kim was on the show). I think this will be fairly capable of standing alone.
