A rival for Chloe, perhaps?

I'm still waiting for the casting of the big bad. Producers really need to go A-list on this one.

Yeah. They say he's a bit like Julian Assange, yes?

Yeah, I really hope the big bad has great casting. Go all out.

Like Julian Assange, eh? In that case, I wonder if he is going to out the government? I mean, we know that the government covered up Logan's crimes (to some extent). I'd imagine they did the same with the events of season 8 and covered up Logan, Suvorov and Taylor's wrongdoings. I wonder if this guy is going to basically out the government, which will be the catalyst that starts the events of the day?

Gary Oldman vs Jack Bauer, boom.

That would be great. Psycho Oldman.

Fantastic point. Maybe a leak from the hacker will start off some kind of crisis and Jack will get involved with that.

That be neat, hackers unveil all of the **** Logan did and the cover ups by Taylor.

Then, the public has an outcry for this 'forgotten outcasted hero', Jack Bauer.

I don't mind the London setting. It's something different.

The London setting makes sense given the ending of s8. President Taylor said the Russians and we (US) will be looking for you. This means that he realistically can't be in the US unless Heller does what has been done in 24 millions of times and pardons Jack in exchange for Jack's help in Live Another Day. That's probably the route they will take. Or Heller will present it as a pardon in exchange for all jack has done for the country and for him personally.

BTW, has anyone ever noticed that 24's writers more or less accurately predicted what would become of Russia with the final season? Granted, Suvarov assassinating Omar Hassan isn't exactly on par, but the way Putin (who Suvarov was obviously based on), manipulates political tensions in Middle Eastern countries for political gain and plays them against the West, is pretty spot on and exactly what Suvarov's plot was in season 8.

I don't want to get into a political discussion but the West also has a long history of manipulating political tensions in the Middle East to advance strategic interests of the West. Not solely done by Russia.

And I also found it unbelievable that Suvarov would authorize the assassination of Renee Walker...that is something that is done by lowly operatives and surely not something Suvarov would concern himself with.

What I find interesting is that the final season of 24 did accurately predict a possible rapproachment between Iran (which is what Kamistan was obviously based on) and the US. And Rouhani seems to be the Omar Hassan.

If I remember correctly, Jack and Secretary Heller didn't end on good terms(Season 6). Unless his opinion has changed of Jack, I really can't see him doing that.

What bothers me is how cinema and television heroes can still be seen publically without any kind of disguise, i.e. growing a beard or dyeing the hair. Jack Bauer and Jason Bourne will never attempt any kind of disguise even though they are being sought by TPTB.

They don't need a disguise to hide though.

I'm curious to see what other newbies they might bring into the fold.

Same here. I'm really excited for the casting of the main villain.

Chase isn't family anymore, though. Kim had more boyfriends after Season 3.

I heard the producers had lunch with Carlos Bernard. Wonder if he'll come back in some capacity.

Pleased that we are getting more 24, but have to say I am disappointed we are not getting 24 episodes.

I can only assume it is all down to the costs of having a 24 episode season. It's a real shame as I always felt the minute by minute tension of 24 was one of its biggest and best assets.

But, like I said, I am more than happy to see more 24, as long as it hits the quality of previous seasons.

Excited to see it set and filmed in London.

Oh yeah, that Carlos dinner sounds promising!

Also, hopefully shorter number of episodes mean less filler.

I was kinda hoping they would stay away from bringing back Tony. I wouldn't mind seeing Chase come back.
