Horror 28 Years Later

Wouldn’t 20th Century/Searchlight have right of first refusal on this? They own the first two films after all.

28 Days Later is one of my favorite horror films, so I am super excited for this

Would be cool if they also got Imogen Poots.

On one hand, the movie going to Sony doesn’t surprise me, what with the decades long relationship Boyle has with Tom Rothman.

Still, doesn’t Disney/20th Century get a piece of this?

That is fast!

Oh wow didn't realise we were getting a trilogy of new movies. DaCosta is awesome though!

Good for her. She's great with horror and thankfully the performance of The Marvels didn't stop her from getting more work.

Marvels was terrible, but her Candyman was great so I think going back to horror is exactly the right move.

That's a pleasant surprise, wasn't expecting Nia to go back to horror so quickly.

Go Nia! Been wanting her to come back to horror. This is good news.

I wonder how Danny will go with that? He doesn’t strike me a someone who likes collaboration creatively but I guess if it’s his idea

Hmm a trilogy??? I wonder how they are going to name the sequels. I guess no 28 Decades Later and 28 Centuries Later.

I hope they are able to recapture what made the original so great and to a lesser extent the sequel. I know the sequel has a pretty solid reputation but I actually think it declines pretty heavily after the opening sequence which is fantastic, and you could make a case for it being as good (or better) than any sequence from the original. However the 'stupid characters making stupid decisions' really flows through the rest of the movie and I have some big gripes with how the virus is allowed to wreak havoc again. It's still enjoyable but more schlocky.

Will be interesting to see how we set the stage for the virus to flourish 28 years later though. When you had 28 weeks later the infected had already starved out and it was a new wave of infections started by one stupid decision. I just hope there's a more clever setup for how things go bad than what 28 Weeks did.
