6.12 Labyrinth - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I agree, the Shelby saving Clark was awsome. They haven't had Shelby around any this season, but when they put him in, they make it count!:woot:

can someone explain this to me  I didnt get that at all. And when Clark thanked him at the end I was like huh? What did Shelby do exactly?

Clark, through his iron clad will, was able to hear Shelby barking in the real world. If Shelby hadnt been there barking his head off then Clark would have believed that what he was experiencing in the AU was reality.

Chloe was someone he conjured up in hid mind to keep him in touch to begin with, but then she died and MM came in fits and bursts but it was Shelby who came through for him.

Shelby barking throughout the episode kept Clark grounded partially in reality, and at the end when he was in the chair and said "Shelby" he was able to reject the false reality in his mind.

Thus Shelby saved Clark.:yay:

yay shelby- superdog!(wait is that copyrighted:oldrazz:)

need more shelby this season- withdrawal symptoms...

I enjoyed seeing MM, but I wished that they showed more of him.

So I hope he turns up for a larger role later on in the season.

it's just that she used to be Clark's and now he has her which in Lex's mind makes her valueable.

And yeah I did think there was also a double meaning to Clark's "Then I woke up" statement.

that sounds like a Lex tactic

what I can't get I steal or something to that effect

I guess this scene was cut :csad:

let me guess, martian manhunter holding the oreo?

it seems like it wouldn't make sense

clark gets up after having been freed by the phantom zoner then MM takes out an oreo cookie?

could it have been a sign to clark, who in a earlier ep stepped on a oreo cookie? and realizes this is that guy he saw in earlier at the harbor

what scene? the kryptonsite smallville online scene?

It must be the scene with MM and Clark in the red shirt where MM's holding an oreo....

Clark was wearing his blue shirt and red jacket when MM was in the barn after Clark threw off the phantom.

i totally missed him saying 'Shelby" in that scene when they were going to drill. Did the bark become audible right before that? or was it still the buzzing?

I need to rewatch when I get home tonight.

You could hear the noise change to a loud clunking sound as the drill was moving closer, and the closer the drill got to his head, the more the clunking sound turned into a bark.

That looks to be from a future episode--note how Clark's wearing a red shirt. In Labryinth he wore a blue shirt throughout...

Right you are Trip.

My wife sat and watched this episode with me and she was complaining about the noise. At first I was like, yeah that is kind of annoying, but then it started to come to me. Then I explained it, but she still found it annoying and went to listen to her ipod. Better for me, I hate explaining things while trying to watch.

Whoa just re-read my post, I was not implying anything bad to you Hulk, just thought it was a funny story. (Opens mouth inserts foot)

Rewatched it and I've just gotta say, did anyone else find Rosenbaum dealivery of "superpowers" in his meeting with Clark just hilarious?

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but did MM say that the Phantom was Parasite?

Fantastic episode. The acting was phenomenal. Everyone was amazing, and Tom Welling especially, but I'll take my gushing to the appropriate thread later. ;)

Very creepy premise for the ep, and even though it's been done by other shows before, I think Smallville did a great job of it too. That was some hellhole-ish AU, wasn't it?!

Loved Shelby coming through like that at the end. :) And MM was so well played, I can tell he's going to be a terrific addition to the show.
