6.12 Labyrinth - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I loved everything about this episode. The story, the acting, the direction. And all those little things like Jorel hand soap, "paging Dr Fine" and Shelby barking throughout the dream... *sigh* the perfect icing on the most tasty cake in the world. Mm-hmm!

Huh, wait a second. That isn't a cherry on top of the cake! It's a piece of turd in the shape of an all encompassing, slow motion of the pretty, camera of longing, "oh I'm going to throw up", Lana shot. It sucks how much 5 seconds can ruin an ending so badly.

Eros, it's www.myspace.com/stevendeknight Just look for the 'Labyrinth' blog.

it's like the Phantom Zone for everyone who doesnt understand a ****ing this about the show, Superman, etc. and judges every episode based on their own personal bias of who Clark should be dating.

Do yourself a favor, and never visit the site. You'll be a much happier person, and your faith about just how intelligent of a species we are wont be shaken.

DeKnight is a real cool guy, and he's contributed nothing but solid episodes to the show. He doesnt deserve that crap. I dont know why he just doesnt take it down. It's been tarnished by the vocal, ******ed minority of the fnabase who should be watching something like One Tree Hill instead....

*peeking in*

Whew. I'm so glad to see my regulars aren't judging this episode strictly on shipper-related terms.

'Rene, of course we aren't judging like shippers. We're the cool people, remember? :D

A-freakin'-men! I wish someone could convince SDK to come over here to get a real, balanced take on the episodes. The Hype is the only place where the fandom is evenly spread among all kinds of SV fans.

damn, labyrinth sucked

and tom can't act

micheal on the other hand needs a damn oscar

best part of the episode, last 2 minutes.

You are kidding right? Tom put in an incredible performance for this episode. He was sensational.

:whatever:

Here's a part of one of the most insightful comments that I've seen posted about this ep:

credit: the lovely, fleegull.
we saw both Clark's fondest hopes and biggest fears in relation to all of the women in his life, here: his hope that Lana would always love him, that Chloe would always be loyal, and that his Mom would always be there for him, and his fear that loving Lana will lead to tragedy and threaten his role as protector of the world, his fear that his secret will destroy Chloe and his fear that his Mom will marry Lionel Luthor.

Like I said in my previous post - people can ***** and moan about their shipper issues in this ep, but it really was all about Clark.

so, no one knows where i can download or otherwise view this episode?

well, thanks anyway.

The only place I know of are the bit-torrent sites, which are a 'do at your own risk' kinda thing - from what I'm told. I do believe that episodes do make their way onto youtube, but probably don't stay up very long.

Someone always posts the episodes on Youtube a couple of days after they're broadcast. Just look for "smallville labyrinth". They're divided into 5 parts.

That certainly is beautiful Serene. Thanks for bringing it over. I love the way Clark's relationship with Lana was described. Very insightful.

I realised last night, after I got in to yet another discussion over at DeKnight's Blog, that his MySpace should just be renamed TWOP vs. SWEET.

She really summed up what I loved most about this ep.

You're absolutely right. I'm always so torn because I can understand why people would get defensive and strike back when they feel they've been attacked. Not that I've ever done anything like that. *cough* It happens both ways too, that's obvious. I still haven't wandered over there... I need to build a bit more strength first. ;)

I'm telling ya.. it's like gang wars are erupting in SV fandom. I've seen things posted recently calling for Clois and Lexana fans to unite to try and overtake the evil Clana fans. LOL!

I want gang colors, dammit! And if we straddle the shipper fences, do we get to wear multiple colors? How about we all just put on Red/Blue/Yellow, shake hands and call it a day. :)

This one works for me.

The review over at DTTW is also very insightful. You should read that too.

Wow, I've been off the SH boards for a while...its good to see everyone's still here! I dont know know why, but I'm enjoying this season a hell of a lot this year. Labyyrinth was part filler part not, but I enjoyed every second of it. They're doing a lot different things this year.

Welcome back, JAX!
I honestly think the show is better than it's ever been, not perfect, but I'm still looking forward to each and every new ep.

The Only good thing about this whole episode was Phil Morris as John Jones/The Martian Manhunter .

In my opinion the rest of the episode sucked .

On your recommendation, I just did. I'm afraid I wouldn't be quite as charitable as you about her "insight." But hey, we all have our opinions. *shrug*

Mine is that I need to continue not reading reviews on DTTW. ;)

I thought I was awesome. All the cast brought their A-game and Welling gave one of his best performances.

The Episode was Splinter, mixed with Lexmas, Rage etc .... Been their done that . Yes the cast all brought their A-game to the table . But The story plot was lame .

The only good that came out of this was Phil as John Jones [I hope he returns]

I'm sorry. :csad: I cant figure what you wouldnt have liked, it seemed to be in the same tone as that post you copied over. I seem to be way off base lately, maybe I should think before I speak. :ninja:

I loved it.... it was a brilliant take on an old idea, but they went beyond what the cliche has done usually.

The whole cast and crew did a great job and Tom was perfect.

Might be my first 5 since Arrow...

I think it would have been better if the episode wasnt presented in such a dreamlike fashion to the audience. Its hard to be interested when you know its all an illusion from the start.

It may have been better to start directly from the mental institution and make the audience believe at first that this could be the real SV universe and Clark somehow wound up in 33.1 powerless.
