Doc bare in mind though, Think about how we all were before that TDK trailer, our minds and bodies weren't aware of what Nolan was capable of with that much creative control and budget. Now we are kinda "wise to his act" in a way, we've seen TDK a hundred times, we've all seen Inception. So for this trailer to take all that knowledge, all that expectation and be without the joker (which is always a sure win for anything batman related to get a smile) to get such a frenzied reaction on the level of TDK trailer 2. It's an accomplishment to say the very least.

Quite true. I personally have long thought story-wise, Nolan could surpass TDK, but in terms of spectacle, I wasn't sure. Seems he has possibly, but as you said, the real test is in full HD glory.

yea, this is all true. since batman begins, we've been giving the chance to see nolan grow as a film maker. the jump in scale is not as big as it was between bb and tdk. but i'll say this....this film feels more serious than either of the previous films.

You guys, that was INCREDIBLE. I want to cry right now. Seriously.

There really is a terrifying, deeply unsettling tone to the trailer... I know this sounds premature, but from the prologue and trailer I feel it is undeniable that they've done it... they've topped TDK.

He clearly knows Bruce Wayne and Batman are one in the same. Hes standing over a Battered Bruce and says "I did not give you permission to die". This either happens after Bane breaks him and unmasks him. Because Bruce's face is bleeding.
