Just booked my tickets for MI at the BFI IMAX for Friday. So looking forward to seeing the prologue on that screen AGAIN!

Can anyone tell me who is falling down in the street brawl scene, during the ending montage? I only saw a mediocre copy.

What's happening with the boards?

It's been taking ages to load for me.

Man, I somehow lost my downloads of the better quality prologue and trailer. The trailer I don't really care about because it'll be up in HQ in a few days, but the prologue? Gah. I had both of them saved on my itunes account today, go back to play them again and get that stupid"cannot locate file" message. Tried searching for the best prologue bootleg just now, nada. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

there is a better quality version of the prologue out !?!

Damn, Warners is serious about keepin this movie under wraps:cwink:

the dialogue sounds pretty bad. more hamfisted than even TDK, which is a pretty impressive feat.

After watching it a couple more times, it's pretty obvious this can't be the final version of the scene. At least I hope it isn't. There are some really wonky edits, like the explosion that takes off the planes tail. They repeat the explosion twice which is a big editing no-no. There are also some really odd jumps during the CIA agent's whole spiel about throwing people out of the plane.

wow that footage was amazing people! Im not even a fan of batman and was blown away. Glad they got my boy Baylesh (Game of Thrones) in it. Bane is just a bad ass. and Nolan using no cgi WOW! i honestly think this one will top begins and TDK for sure

I agree that it probably isn't the final version of the scene. I think people are making too big a deal about Bane's dialogue. I'm sure they'll fix it up so we can understand him better, although I didn't have that hard a time making out his lines in the better quality bootleg that has surfaced.

There was some dialogue that seemed a bit off to me. Two exchanges in particular:

1. CIA Agent: If I pull that off, will you die?
Bane: It would be extremely painful
CIA Agent: You're a big guy.
Bane: For you.

I don't really understand the need for that bit to be included. What's the point?

2. Young Man: Have we started a fire?
Bane: The fire rises.

My problem with that exchange is simply how unepic and casual is Bane is with that line. It reads like an important line with some oomph on it, but is delivered rather plainly. Maybe it's just me.

trust me watching it in imax was something else

It showcases that people are curious about Bane and his myth. His reputation is growing. And it also showcases that Bane is intelligent (swapping contexts to apply to the CIA agent instead of him) and badass (telling the CIA guy he's about to get owned).

They transfused his blood to one of the guys who would die in the crash, so the CIA would think Pavel died in the crash.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wasn't sure what was going on there either, lol.

I'm glad someone else got that. I thought it was fairly obvious myself.

It's not horrible editing. It was effective in the medium it was used.

I didn't see one person not ONE person leave the theater scratching their heads as to why the explosion happened twice.

Perhaps its not your preference but that is not the ultimate standard of editing for the rest of the world.

No. It's horrible editing. No getting around that fact.

I'm a pretty big Nolan fan, but his movies have some really bad editing sometimes, particularly the action scenes. Lee Smith edited X-Men First Class, which has very well edited action scenes. I don't get why his work on Nolan's films is subpar. Maybe he's doing the best he can do with what Nolan provides him. I dunno.

How many in that theater actually care about movies? None.

I do. And from a film editing stand point, it sucks. It's an awful edit. Poorly timed, and jarring.

Normal person won't ever notice it. They don't care.

It's because Nolan likes to keep the editing slow for IMAX stuff. Which is smart...but at the same time, you end up with a horribly edited scene like the chase scene with the Joker. I couldn't believe how poor that was.
