Read up on some information. Operation Early Bird is "black ops" so everything is Top Secret to avoid a "international incident"
This also would suggest that they had to keep the mask on their heads, he didn't know which one he was going to keep and because of that none of them could risk their identity, in case something happened in the meantime and they the prisoners escaped.
He only takes Bane's mask off because he suspects its Bane.
Plus there is a fear element to it, being hung out of a plane and not being able to see where you are...its scary. Ever been a rollercoaster and closed your eyes? Its as if there's no control, you don't know where you're going next and so you can't prepare your body for the next turn, in turn it all seems a little chaotic and random.
because if they're part of Bane's crew why would he wait til he was back in the U.S. to ask them about Bane who could very much well be in the region?
Honestly I can't believe I'm explaining some of this stuff.
He asks about the mask and then his FIRST line to Bane is:
"If I pull this off will it kill you?"
can't you gleam the reason he asked about the mask from that second line? They're interested in how to stop Bane, they're trying to find a weakness.
Maybe because he understands the futility of it all?
"Was it always your plan to get caught" he asked slightly resigned, probably realizing this has been going more in Bane's favor than his own. He's on a small plane with one of the world's most dangerous terrorist.
Or maybe he couldn't their in a small jet flying in some unknown country.
It's a black ops mission so they didn't bring the hightech invisible jet, so it probably could only do so much.
I hope this answers some of your questions
Okay, it doesn't quite answer everything, but good try though. Also the editing isn't helping either. There should have been more beats, like when Bane is revealed and whatnot.
