But isn't Gotham essentially No Man's Land by the end of the movie? At least that's what we have been hearing. If the city is in complete shambles Wayne Enterprises going under is the last thing to worry about...

It could be, maybe its not.

Either way the idea that this film is going to end with Gotham being annexed from the United States and basically its own country is kind of silly.

Giving up his identity would compromise W.E. too much. Not to mention the people who care about him.

Rachel,Harvey & Gordon were targets because of their jobs.Bruce's himself,Alfred & Fox was safe because of secret identity.So it actually works.

I disagree with this. I think Gotham would be proud finding out a Wayne of all people was the vigilante who alone stood up for the city and almost cleared the streets for 10-ish years, even if it was outside the law.

Ding, Ding ... and continues a family legacy of standing up and fighting for their city.

In Bruce's case, unlike his father ... literally, psychologically, symbolically and financially.

For Gothamites to find out it was the young, handsome, playboy, womanizing, drunken baffoon son of a Gotham legend in Thomas Wayne fighting for the survival of the city all along. It could inspire MAJOR hope.

I heard there was a form of this in the film ... while Bane (a terrorist) has completely taken over a city, without ANY government interferance?

Even though in TDK Gordon had to call in the National Guard just to help with the chaos a terrorist created in ONE day?

Yet the government isn't going to do anything about a terrorist dictator, running a major american city?

Thus the huge WALL OF CARS at bridges, and tunnels, etc.

Penn State is not a corporation. Neither did it order a giant Tank that pancaked cop cars, a device that spied on every last person in gotham, help manufacture a weapon that was used in the international kidnapping of a Chinese official or many of the other thing that Wayne Enterprises and Wayne Tech have done to aid Batman.

The entire company would need to be looked at thoroughly. The board would have to resign, Wayne would be put in jail as would Fox and any other member who might have signed off on anything. Including people who booked Wayne's trip to China (provided it was done by the company)

it'd be a huge mess.

Did we even have proof of this raid thing? The only thing I remembered were some apparent sightings of SWAT (or GCPD?) stuff and something about the windows but did we see any photos? The memories are so far away.
