it really depends where you live. Gauge your area and fanatics well. In NYC it was a sizeable line 3 hours before it began. And it was freezing and windy that day

YOu think thats not far enough in advance? think an hour is good? Never been to an advanced screening before I have no clue. Maybe Ill pull a raganork I have the day off tuesday and arrive nine hours early. Like Tailgaiting.

A half hour is not good. I do two or three of these a week sometimes for up coming movies. Not sure if they gave out more passes then seats but if you show up less then an hour before your running the chance of being told its full. If you read the fine print on your gofobo pass it will say first come first serve and that that pass doesn't mean admittance. If I was going I would be there no less then 3 hours early.

You're dealing with IMAX. The last thing you want is getting stuck at the front of the theater. So I would say get there 90 minutes early and you should be able to get a good seat towards the back of the theater.

I'm going to the Indianapolis IMAX theater. I doubt it'll sell out.

You'll have to gauge how popular your cinema is (how long it took to sell out). And you'll have to factor in that everyone there will likely be a Batman fan, so add in an hour or so to account for devotion.

I attended the TDK prologue viral screening in NYC, so I knew I had to be there pretty early. Unfortunately my scheduling got a little messed up so I got there about 90 minutes early. Which usually would be an alright time to drop by, but again, you have to account for fan devotion. By the time we were all seated I was a little bit below the center section, with every row above me completely filled. It's not too bad for IMAX, but I definitely wished I was up higher.

If you want my advice, I'd go 2 hours early to guarantee a good seat (i.e. center and above). If you want even better, add about 40 minutes or so. Anything over 4 hours is overkill. I've never come across a screening that required that long of a camp to guarantee great seats.

OEB update: All sold out, except for Victoria, BC and Quebec City.

Guess I'll have to take that back.

I plan on being there 2 hours early, If for some reason I don't get a seat ultimately I'll probably just have to see MI4.

I'm terrified. I wanna get there at 9 but I don't wanna be a loser going by myself :funny: :(

Pretty much this.

Gordon's lines in TDK in Dent's office are understandably hard to hear either because he talks so low or the sound is low or both. I could still understand him but it was/is hard.

I'm planning on showing up about an hour early which is about my usual show-up time. For any advance screenings I've been to, I've never been turned away.

There's no better crowd to go alone with then fellow geeks. Just chat up anyone in your immediate vicinity and you'll easily find your long lost best friends. My friend had to bail on me the last second, leaving me to go solo, but it ended up being a moment of serendipity.

After about 30 minutes of agonizing self-pity amongst chatty groups, I literally just gave a shout-out to the Hype and about 4 people acknowledged the reference. They kept me company during the rest of the wait. :o

If I found an extra ticket could you make it?
I'd definitely give it a very good consideration. I was planning to bring along a friend with me that didn't get to go last time, so I'd feel bad leaving him out for a second time. But it is Batman, so priorities and all that... :O

Hey I'm going solo and don't care. My only reason for going is to see the prologue. My other friends will be in bed at the time. I win. :)

THanks. My IMAX according to the map actually didnt fill up really fast, but after hearing this advice I will definitely make extra time.

Thanks for the advice KRIM. Hopefully Rags will use his superpowers to find you a pass. I'm going to my first press screening in DC. Any fellow Hypesters going there?

I'll look around hopefully I can find one
Thanks all the same for the effort. Just don't screw anyone over on the chance you do find anything. Or at least don't tell me. :o

Just shout out the Hype in the middle of a crowd. You'll find plenty.

I can already imagine how that will go.

*Boom stands up in the audience*

Boom: "Can I get a 'HELL YEAH' from my Superhero Hypers?!"

*Cricket chirps*

*Boom sits back down - dejected and alone*

Hah, and then everyone goes on the Hype and laughs at their collusion to leave a fellow Hypester hanging on the case of a shout-out. :funny:

The best time to do it is when the room is completely dark just before the trailers or footage start. It leaves you a few seconds to anonymously yell out a fanboy reference.
