61 Nights of Halloween (2024 Edition)

Tbh, I haven't seen Saw since 2005, I think. Once you see the ending it loses some rewatch value.

Not if you watch people on youtube watch it for the first time. :o

Just don't watch ones that get it confused with The Fog remake. :o

The ones that I follow are usually new to movies altogether, they probably never heard of The Fog let alone the remake.

The Mist reaction from KatWatchesHorrorMovies is probably my favorite. She was too stunned to speak. :o

Last night I watched 10 Cloverfield Lane for the first time. It was the only one in the series I hadn't seen yet and I have to agree with the general consensus that this is the best one, though I still really like the first Cloverfield. John Goodman gave one of his best performances here. He's really one of those actors who can seamlessly pull off warm and kindly or dark and sinister.

I have a little more time tonight so I'm gonna try to tackle the 2 hour and 18 minute long (!!) Terrifier 2. Make me laugh, clown. :o

Wait. You watched Cloverfield Paradox before Lane?

Honestly the only thing that held up well is my fancasting for Elizabeth Debicki as Samus

I honestly forgot that this even happened. It was a total "You'll forget about this tomorrow" kind of movie.

But yes to Debicki as Samus. Let's get her in the Nintendo Cinematic Universe in a live action Metroid movie and then they can go all Roger Rabbit with it for Smash Bros. :o

Today I have watched -

SLEEPY HOLLOW (1999) Directed by Tim Burton, starring Johnny Depp, Christina Ricci, Michael Gambon, Miranda Richardson, Casper Van Dien, Christopher Walken, Christopher Lee, Ian McDiarmid, Michael Gough, and Steven Waddington. In 1799, New York city police inspector Ichabod Crane is sent to the Hamlet of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of decapitation murders. Are the deaths caused by a crazed madman or a vengeful spirit?

DR. TERROR'S HOUSE OF HORRORS (1965) Directed by Freddie Francis, starring Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Donald Sutherland, Bernard Lee, Phoebe Nicholls, Jeremy Kemp, and Michael Gough. Dr. Terror boards a train car and proceeds to tell the supernatural futures of the gentlemen in it with tarot cards. These futures includes vampires, werewolves, voodoo, and killer plants. This movie holds a special place in my memories. In 1965 I was 8 years old, my family had just moved from a very rural town, to a small town with one single screen movie theater. My older brother and I started a weekly ritual of going to the theater by ourselves and watching a movie. This was the first movie we got to see. Mom would give him a dollar, and he would be able to buy us both a ticket as well as a small popcorn and small drink. Oh the good old days.

This and Mars Attacks are Burton's two most underrated movies IMO. Not that this one was negatively received, it just feels largely forgotten in the grand scheme of things. One has to respect Burton's determination to make Christopher Walken look as unsettling as the movie will allow each time he's worked with him.

Watched it yesterday myself. I don't think it's underrated, as much as it's not as "unique" as his big ones. It's Burton does Sleepy Hollow, as opposed to something more original like Beetlejuice, Pee Wee, or Edward. Thus they leave a bigger footprint.

Very much the inferior killer spider film of 2024, with a whole of bunch of characters that you could care less for.

Infested

Ah, there we go. Much more stylish, fun and has actual characters that you can root for. The Evil Dead reboot is in good hands.

Watched Terrifier 2. I guess Art the Clown killed the editor too because that movie could have been at least a half hour shorter. :o

Basically the first movie but on steroids. Still not quite my cup of tea but I'll still watch the next one when it hits streaming just to keep pop culturally relevant and to see how ridiculous they get with it.
