8.06 - Prey - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

I SAW SEASON 9 POSTER OF SV (not kidding)

it showes Clark standing in Apocalypse (not the planet apokolips) like setting in Metropolis

with all the buildings crumbled down and there is half buried globe of daily planet

sky colours is reddish and sunn is also quiot dark redish

clark wearing is red javket like we usually see but he is holding a burned up amercan flag in one hand

and text on poster says Apokolips is upon us
If that poster does exist, it's just a fan photoshop job.

yeah but its different for Chloe now she isn't trying to expose them now... she's trying to help them and how can she do that by pointing the finger at them for every crime that happens in Metropolis.

Indeed. I think it was clear that for most of the episode, Clark was in the wrong. Chloe even offered for Clark to come to the meetings. You'd think that as a rational person, it would be wise for Clark to atleast try and understand the people he thumps, hammered home by his last convo with Chloe.

I find the episodes where clark begins to act irrational, are the ones that make me sleepy the most.

Yes, and chances are that it was fan made.

They are just in the first half of season 8, they are not even to the point of thinking about season 9. The studio hasn't even decided there will be a season nine, and probably won't until early next year.

I like when Clark acts irractional and makes mistakes. It's him learning from them mistakes to become a better person.

I don't think Clark was acting irrational at all. Chloe was the one that was putting herself on a pedestal of savior of the meteor infected.

She wasn't the one who walked in on a massacre at the ace of clubs.
People were being killed. And logically the killer would have been in her little Krypo Anonymous group.

Clark may have done something wrong by going behind Chloe's back. But you've got to make tough choices, and have to do what you have to do to make sure nobody else gets killed on your watch.

I would have wanted those names too. I wouldn't take anything for granted.

But with his secret, I would think that the last place Clark would want to be would be in a meeting with the meteor-infected. He needs his face to be far away from the super-powered individuals in Metropolis. Keep it under wraps.

His been making mistakes for 8 seasons now, I mean come on Clark or are you just that stupid.

Superman still makes mistakes in the comics...what's your point?

everyone makes mistakes, Clark can't be perfect or it would be a **** story if he was right all the time other people have to be right it shows Clark taht the world is grey but he'll still stick to his ideals only accepting that they aren't the only way of doing things.

i don't understand why people are saying clark was jerk to chloe

i see this other way around

Clark has every right to find out SUSPECTS

this is how u do investigation to narrow down list of suspects and to clark MF seems like suspects because the way mureder werer comitted

and since chloe is playing godmother to MF he had to go to chloe

if anything hapenns in seseaon one she should have known that MOST of MF are BAD people even that girl in plastique was bad

she was hdidng reports of KILLERS from clark not innocent people

Rational thing for chloe was tod do give those list of MF it's not like chloe personally bonded with them

and WOILA who was one of the killesr bye end of episode it was MF from her own Kamboya group (which clark rightly mentioned)

chloe is lucky clark is very patient alien if i was in clark's place i would have done somthing about her:hehe:

not to mention he got himself almost killed in SR and was saved by lois lane and that kid

superman is not intellect or smart like batman or even GA

How was Clark wrong in this episode? He was right in the end by suspecting Davis.

Hey B8, how goes it?

I agree by the way, Chloe was really in the wrong by not helping Clark in his investigation, considering their experiences in Krypto freaks. On top of that, she has done worse than he did during her career.

Well, she didnt have to help him, but it was her high and mighty attitude about what he did that irked me, something that she has done a zillion times before in order to get the job done.

She could have just said, "I'm sorry Clark that I couldnt help you on this one, but it was a patient/doctor confidentiality/conflict of interest kind of thing. And I understand that you had to do whatever it takes to find out the truth and stop these killings. Its your job to save people."

Hey Avidreader!

I agree. I didn't like Chloe's high and mighty attitude either. It kind of seemed out of character but I guess she has gotten more defensive than usual ever since she became a meteor freak herself.

I think I had a brain aneurysm trying to read this.

I was annoyed by a lot of the Clark/Chloe interaction in this episode. Much of the characterization felt "off" to me. It seems only logical that Clark would want to investigate the people on that list and Chloe, of all people, should know that there definitely IS a history of violent behavior with the meteor-infected. Not all of them, sure, but her first concern when she found out she was infected was that she'd become crazy and do something violent.

But Clark's behavior felt more aggressive and less thoughtful than he's been in recent episodes. I just didn't care for much of the writing in this one.

*tacklehugs avid* Good to see you around these parts again!

my brother got so annoyed with Chloe in this episode and he just wanted her to die already. I don't blame him for thinking that though.

It's something that's always bugged me about the Chloe character. She has one sets of rules and standards for herself and another set for everyone else.

Hey Buddy!! Yeah, I just had to make a comment about my dear ol' pal Chloe Sullivan, she really riled me in this episode.

I thought Clark was a little more assertive with her than usual, but ya know he's Superman, and he's dealing with things on a whole different level and because of that I can cut him some extra slack.

On another note, speaking of tacklehugs, my son got up at 4.30 a.m. this morning to watch his Chargers playing in London town, and they lost 32 - 37. :csad:

Wow, get up early and they still lose.

Tell him I feel for him, and know how he feels being a Dolphins fan. :(
