Yea, I would have rather her died also. :p

As much as I'll miss Ashmore (unlike Trip, I really liked his take on Jimmy) I didn't mind his death as it did fix the age problem, and it was a fantastic heroic send off for the character.

Oh, and I didn't mind Lionel's send off...it was just a few years later than it should've been. :p

I wouldn't have had her die, but maybe just not come back at all after the season 7 finale. OR have her come back for the 5 episodes but make her normal or something. Maybe she could be off setting up another Isis foundation all around the world. Just have her disappear...

Well for what it was, I didn't mind Lionel's send off either, I just wish he hadn't been redeemed only to keep on doing all those bad things. If he was so good, why did he capture Clark in Traveler?

Lex probably should have killed him two seasons before he did.

And I didn't like Jimmy much, his motives vacilated wildly depending on the story that needed to be told, but I don't think Smallville is ever going to NOT do that.

All the characters have that problem, and I don't understand it.

There are shows that actually manage to have characters do unexpected things but they manage to explain it or have it unfold in such a way that it makes sense for them.

Smallville has NEVER been good at that. Ever.

Why would Jimmy be any different?

Meh... I still love the show, despite that, but it frustrates me as a writer because I know these writers know how to write. I wonder why they do that...

Don't they have a good idea of the bigger picture when designing each episode?

But isn't that what the Exec Producers (the show runners) are supposed to do? Keep track of the bigger picture so if a writer wanders off the intended season-long track for a character there's someone there to throw the yellow flag or hold up the red card or whatever?

SPN may not have the audience that Smallville, but I think the show (on the whole) is more consistantly written.

Dean doesn't all of a sudden start liking show tunes, for example, if the show happened to need him to like The Sound of Music for some reason.

Well, maybe having her die would have been too much, better they avoided such a humongous veering off into such a huge change in her character.

*shrug*

Perhaps you're right, they shouldn't have brought her back at all rather than do what they'd done with her.

*ANYTHING* other than what they'd done would have been better, I hated the power suit that much.

I wish he hadn't been wearing sunglasses in the final funeral scene, so I could have seen his eyes, but Justin had seemed to play Oliver's mourning of Jimmy very effectively. It was a wonderful episode from Justin.

You didn't see the tear rolling down his cheek? I thought that was very significant and telling for a character like Oliver Queen.

maybe Oliver blames himself because if he hadn't given Jimmy that job, he wouldn't have found clark in the middle of the road who in turn wouldn't have told him to get chloe and davis to safety. I know clark blames himself for jimmy's death but I think oliver will feel responsible too. maybe they will show that in season 9?

YEa trip i am with you overall the episode had some good parts to it, it was just a little rushed, should have been 2 episodes. And the the major sticking point is the lack of an actual doomday/clark fight. I would have been happy if we got something simular to titan back in season 6 which many say is one of the best fights in the show. The jimmy deal is a bit strange and could have worked more if they explained it a bit more then the brief mention of jimmy creating a new life for himself and all that.

That was hilarious. I just read Triplet's review for this episode and i couldn't stop laughing. How can anyone give this episode anything above 1 out of 5 is beyond me. This episode was a disappointment and sucked beyond all logical reasons. Smallville just needs to end to stop destroying the Superman mythos.

yes over the yrs the show has done some stupid things, but really what show hasnt. There has been very good elements added to the show. And really the show is a reintrepation of the superman mythos. They take certain things from the various comics and then add there own spin on things. Like for example the spectactular spider-man cartoon, its based more on the classic lee/ditko eras of the comics but they throw in elements of more modern eras/past cartoons/and the movies. And some own twists and overall that show has been great doing that.

How can anyone say that the season finale was good is beyond me. What they did to Jimmy was a disgrace to Superman and even to Smallville fans. I feel cheated and robbed somehow.

This character is supposed to be Superman and now he says he wants to give up of his human side? LOL

I agree with Neil Bailey. When i was beggining to have confidence in this show, they pull something like this. This series needs to end ASAP.

That's what I meant. I wish I could have seen his eyes since he was obviously feeling badly about what had happened to Jimmy.

I'm glad I entertained you, even in an inadvertant way, but I had thought I explained why those things, while a bit troubling, didn't really bother me enough to count down the episode.

Although, I'm not sure if you hate the show as much as you say why you bother to come in here only to trash it.

Don't you have better things to do with your time? I never understand that.

When I thought Lost jumped the shark, I didn't go around the web trashing the show on forums.

I don't get it.

I think that says it all.

You probably never need to read my reviews ever again. Me and Neil do NOT see eye to eye on things at all.

Yea i said it before there is times i havent agreed with things that happened in the show, other times i have enjoyed the show alot. And i willstick with it to see where and how the show ends up now. And like others have said the show is its own take on the superman mythos good or bad we need to see its not going to be everything from the comics/etc........

Yea, I also don't normally agree with Neal. He sees himself as way too clever at times and seems a bit of an ego hound when it comes to his writing. He's also ridiculous in his tearing the show apart.

I also find it funny how appearantly he has an experience when it comes to everything. If the show dealt with racism, it's wrong as he has personal experience with it. If it deals with the economy, appearantly he has personal experience that proves the show incorrect. He's almost become a parody of himself.

Either way, his opinion is his opinion whether I agree with it or not, and I don't go onto Supermanhomepage and start throwing insults at him just because I don't agree with him. He's entitled to it, and not everyone agrees with it.

Just like Triplet is entitled to hers, as she explained quite well why she scored it the way she did. There is no reason for you to come in here with no class and start attacking her opinion. It's easy enough to just say "Good review, i don't agree with you though, and here is why..."

See that isn't so hard is it. Grow up or get out. :o

...completely off topic but I would love to hear your opinion/reasoning to think that. And not to argue or bash, just genuine curiosity from someone who absolutely loves the writing/story-telling of that show.

Also, enjoyed your review on Doomsday...although I really didn't enjoy that episode by any means.

I think Lost currently lacks focus. It's so busy being clever in all the timejumps, going back and forth through time, that they no longer have that certain something that used to make the show about more than just a bunch of strangers on a desert island.

The cool thing about the first couple of seasons was there were all these mysteries, I kept tuning in to watch to see what little kernels of truth were revealed or if any new twists were introduced.

Then they started all the time jumping and had all these extra characters I didn't care about then they'd randomly kill them off when they weren't working...

I was over the show when Sawyer unknowingly buried that couple alive.

I swear the writers were on crack who thought that was a good way to get rid of those two.

I stopped watching during the first season when it was putting me to sleep. :p

Of course later down the line they get back at me by killing the one character I really liked...Charlie. :(

Thanks for the info Triplet! It's funny how people can see/interpret things so differently sometimes.

I have been absolutely loving the latest seasons of Lost after being teased so much in the first few with all of the mysteries. It's nice to see references back to old eps/ideas and having them expanded on.

I personally would love the writers on Lost to step in and do just one season of Smallville. Just to show what can be done with the material.

I think they could have brilliantly written Season 7 & 8 with all of the Veritas/Traveler prophecy stuff.

you have to watch the season 3 finale of Lost though. It will blow your mind!

Actually, I'm with Brainy on that.

Them killing off Charlie really was the tipping point for me, I hated that episode.

Lost is an amazing show! I ridicule those who say otherwise!

Smallville, Lost, 24, those are the shows I try to keep up with...

LOL!

:D

Yeah, I hated that ep. I actually yelled at the screen, sorta like when I was watching Power...

I don't yell at the TV much, unless an ref makes a dumbass call on a football game, an ump misses a strike, or Adam Lambert doesn't win American Idol.

I lost most interest when Allison was voted out, but, between the last two boys, I think Adam deserved to win. Kris was cute and all, but... ah well. Best of luck to both of them in their careers.
