8.22 - Doomsday - Discussion Thread (Spoilers)

Hmmm...long time since posting; been kinda busy etc. Well now, I think I'm gonna take a guess on the soon-to-be-deceased.

It's going to be Davis and Impulse.

Impulse (Bart) is a "long running" character. Also, tieing in the comics angle, Flash has a history of dying at various times no matter who wears the costume e.g. Barry Allen in print, Wally West in animation and correct me if I'm wrong as its been a while since I've read the comics, but didn't Bart "Impulse" die at least once in the comics? So there is a history. From a Smallville POV that wouldn't stop them from bringing in a "new" Flash (or Impulse depending on legal and whether they still intend to make a Flash movie). Finally, although he's only been in a few episodes, everyone loves Bart so it would hurt much more than losing some other occasional guest star.

Anyway, thats my guess...

Bart is not a pivotal character this season, so is not him.

The Grim Reaper is once again descending on Smallville, and this time he's not foolin' around.

Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that two pivotal characters will bite the dust in this May's season finale. And in a bit of a departure for Smallville, both deaths will stick. "These characters will die and they will stay dead," maintains my insider. "This is the real deal."

Of course, that's not to say producers aren't planning a twist or two, because they are. But I'm told those twists do not involve bringing either character back to life.

If you're looking for another clue, you're out of luck. I'm not even going to do one of those morbid charts where I assess each character's chances for survival. I wouldn't want to do anything beyond writing this spoilery story to ruin the surprises in store.

Eh, one more little tease won't hurt anyone: One character qualifies as a Smallville vet... the other one, not so much.

Nice photos, to bad the doomsday suit actor photo was a bit washed out do to the light coming off the photo/camera. Though love the destroyed street sets, so hope we get that big fights with clark/dd dd/jlers. Though i do wonder how time is going to work out for all the characters in the show, we got the 7 leads, dd suit actor, and the 2 jlers, and cosmic boy.

Bringing Bart back like I was hoping, this episode just shot up to maybe the best episode of the series. I mean look at all involved:

Clark/Doomsday brawl
Black Canary/Green Arrow/Impulse representing the JLA
Cosmic Boy representing the Legion
Two deaths
All action

Sounds fantastic.

As I was hoping. Its shaping up to be a great conclusion. I just wish we would get less to-ing and fro-ing as far as Doomsday is concerned. Less angst from him and less stupidity from Chloe would be welcome, the whole thing is obvious stalling

It is shaping up to be an exciting episode.
I just wish they would up it to a big 2hour finale considering all the characters involved and all that looks to take place.

The pictures are great because it shows how awsome the fight between Clark and Doomsday is going to be. I'm happy the Bart Allen is coming back and I want to see some Chloe/Bart interaction as well as Bart/Clark interaction. I hope Rokk says is about to say the flash but Bart will say it's Impulse. This season finalle might be one of the best

If they go for the Metropolis battle and people see Clark is the RBB, then something must happen to fix it. The Legion is going to be involved with Rokk, so either they go back in time or there's going to be some global mindwipe to keep Clark's secret safe..... Unless the fight ends at the woods or inside an empty building like Bizarro, problem solved.

Since Clark can't beat Doomsday by himself (the monster is much more stronger), he's going to need some help. The traveler orb Tess has is going to play a role in defeating Doomsday by taking his powers away before sending him to the Phantom Zone. Rokk may help Clark in the process.

Man great to have the news of the other leaguer returning is Impluse i cant wait to see how he interacts with the rest of the characters for the episode. I too wish the finale was 2hrs(do hope next years which is likely going to be the end is).

This wouldn't be the first time Smallville has hyped up a huge fight only to leave me disappointed.

is the little girl just someone visiting the set or is she actually in the episode playing an extra?

she was probably an extra my guess and the actors were kind enough to take time before/after shooting to take some photos.

It will probably be like the Superman/Doomsday animated movie where after Doomsday has gone and torn up the whole city fighting Superman a little girl comes out of nowhere and is upset and crying in the middle of the street.

Doomsday spots her and is moving in quickly for the kill and Clark stops him with his last dying breath...

Either that or she's someone's kid or just a random extra...take your pick.

She's got a "cut" on her forehead, so i'd assume she's at least an extra, if not playing a tiny part.
