btw, Katheryn Bigalow is frigin' hot.
She put some women half her age (like Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse) to shame.

I'm glad that The Hurt Locker won. Although, Avatar was a decent film with amazing visuals but that's all it had going for it. The story/writing was mediocre with so-so acting. District 9 was leagues better than it.
Also, IMHO, Hurt Locker, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air, District 9, Inglourious Basterds > Avatar.
Why the hell did you pick those two as examplesShe put some women half her age (like Lindsay Lohan and Amy Winehouse) to shame.
I think the academy was pressured to give an award to a woman after 82 years. Therefore I think Bigelow being a female director had something to do with it. Otherwise the Oscar race wouldve been between Cameron and Tarantino.
Or because she directed a film that deserved the award, which she did.![]()
How was it obvious he was playing along Crook??
He at one point gives an incredibly subtle smirk but that was only after he was hammered on for awhile. I don't think he was bitter as some were saying but he didn't seem amused in the least.
Oscars: 'Grumpy' George Clooney was in on the joke, by the way...
New mullet, new girlfriend, new tude, new dude? An uncharacteristically grumpy-faced George Clooney provided a show-within-a-show during last nights Oscars.
In case anyone had turned against him for his pained facial expressions (if thats the sort of weird thing you do; personally I found the feigned *****ery rather refreshing) or thinks it was a sign of a Clooney-Alec Baldwin-Steve Martin feud, know that Clooney was in on the joke, at least during co-hosts Baldwin and Martins opening banter (Baldwin said Oh, look, its George Clooney; the two exchanged an evil eye; Baldwin took a long pause and simply moved on). Both Alec and Steve told him ahead of time, Clooneys rep told EW. We have yet to hear from the lower quadrant of his hair. Story developing .
Anyone surprised? Are you serious?

Well there has only been four other women including Bigelow nominated for best director in the entire 82 year history of the academy awards. So who knows when the next time a woman will ever be nominated again in this category. It was an historic night for women, but at the same time Bigelow will also be remembered as the former wife of James Cameron.

Let's also not forget, people in that specific field choose the Oscar nominees. So, it wasn't the academy who nominated her, it was other directors in the academy who nominated her. I don't think she was a bad choice for winner at all, and I am a big fan of both Cameron and QT.
