Not this year, no. The Dark Knight Rises is a great movie but it was never gonna get nominations. No ****ing way.
I don't recall but was he nominated for anything?

I thought that Huntsman's Vxf were just fine. I would have liked to see TDKR nominated for VFX but the Oscars are obsessed with obvious uses of CGI so I see why it didn't. get a nom. It's dumb I know.I thought she was fine, I just do not think the role was that good.
As for Nolan, I think the fact that they put dreck like Snow White and the Huntsman in VFX over TDKR shows a continuation of the hatred. I think he will have to make an earnest historical drama about one of the Academy's pet issues before they ever acknowledge him as a serious filmmaker. Oh well, they have a history of being that blind.
Anyone to suggest The Dark Knight Rises was locked outta nods because of Aurora are what I calls "morons."
I’d like to add a timely aside about Nolan: I recall emerging from a summer IMAX preview screening of The Dark Knight Rises feeling confident the film and its maker would be in the center of the Oscar conversation, for completing his trilogy as strongly as Jackson did The Lord Of The Rings. All of that was shattered by the violence in an Aurora, Colorado midnight screening days later, which stamped The Dark Knight Returns in a completely unexpected context.
I think the real travesty of all this is that SWATH got more noms than Moonrise Kingdom.
Especially since I'd say the direction, cinematography, score and editing were all better than the screenplay.
Nolan was snubbed for Best Director for Inception. Yeah... they have a grudge against him. Same as Spielberg during the 70s/80s.
It's jealously.
Sawyer is right (I know, right).
Saw this posted on facebook.
