He'll probably lobby/ pull some Senator Palpatine secret dealings to get Jennifer Lawrence nominated for an Oscar.

I think my favorite part is when Scott talks everybody shuts the **** up. And when Tarantino mentions Police Story 3. That made me remember why I loved the man in the first place.

It's crazy to think we could have 3 or 4 sci-fi films nominated for Best Picture this year.

Mad Max: Fury Road and The Martian are givens at this point. Star Wars being the cultural phenomenon that it is could be enough to push it in last minute, and with the PGA nomination I'm not quick to rule out Ex Machina's chances either (albeit slim).

Yuck. It would be pointless and the film doesn't need it.

Ex Machine getting a PGA is pretty telling. There's support there. Personally, I'd rather her get one for Ex Machina over TDG because I prefer her there but IMO it's definitely a possibility now for her to get in for both. If she can do it at the BAFTA, why not the Oscars too?

Because the Academy voters are something else entirely. They've voted in people over the years who shouldn't have got in and left out people who got noms in other awards/film festivals only to be left out of it at the Oscars.

I've not seen The Danish Girl yet but loved her in Ex Machina, so if she gets in for that, it's good.

Yeah, I like her just fine but I can't say I'm invested in her so I don't care either. I just find it fascinating if she can do it and if there will be backlash for it.

Personally, I'm more excited with Brie and Saorsie's nominations and I'm hoping for some Saorsie fashion slayage!

LOL I wonder if David O. Russell is OK right now... I like his previous films BTW but his Oscar thirst and obsession with JLaw is hilarious.

Joy bar JLaw was decent and that's it.

The movie was garbage but her performance was good. J-Law knows how to play angry, I will always give her that. From Katniss to Mystique to this, she can do a slow burn anger you can see.
