No kidding...
F-, next time apply yourself.
Heed your own advice, kemosabe. You'd have to jump up to reach fail status at this point.

In what way was that snarky from Sawyer? That seemed pretty straightforward from him.
Excuse me, I'm at D+ right now, thank you very much!
For the record, the F- was directed at your outrageously smug dismissal of the film, not you as a poster. Now, I'm not so sure.
Well that is another smug generalization. You are on a roll.I smugly dismiss movies I don't like, just like everyone else on the internet. I didn't say anyone involved in the movies that I didn't happen to like were somehow worth less as human beings or anything like that because of it. I gave an opinion of some movies. You don't have to agree with my opinion. But mocking somebody else's opinion strikes me as a particularly foolish choice. Better to just acknowledge it, choose whether you agree or not(if you even care) and then move on. What you did is basically tell another person that you think their opinion is stupid. That choice in and of itself smacks of the same kind of mentality of which it accuses.

Play nice, kids...
I know it depends on the poster. You give as much effort as you choose. If you are going to act a certain way, you can't complain about being labelled as such.It might be a smug generalization but it's by and large true and you know it. My patience with separating the wheat from the chaff is exhausted.

OK, after seeing some more movies my personal breakdown is as follows on who I think should win and who the potential runners up are as well as nominees that I think shouldn't be in there at all ans snubs who should have been there. All just my personal opinion but that's what these type of forums are for. With that said here goes:
Best Picture-
I only saw 6 of the 8 nominees and I will not be seeing the remaining two since as far as I am concerned they have failed the most important test a movie needs to pass: The make me give a ***k test. Room and Brooklyn didn't and that's all I have to say about them.
Of the 6 that remain I'd have to go with Spotlight as my favorite with The Martian as runner up. I have no issue with The Big Short, Bridge of Spies or The Revenant being in this category as I enjoyed all of them to varying degrees. And IMO Mad Max has no business being in this category at all as I did not like that movie at all.
Agreed. Not just FX, though. Production design, costumes, sound design, etc. There are exceptions, but MCU production values on the whole have been great and I wouldn't object to them getting some awards love for that. But in the major/non-technical categories, I agree they haven't even been close to Oscar-worthy. And neither has any DC film for that matter, outside of TDK, imo.Nothing in the MCU thus far has deserved an Oscar outside of a technical one like SFX.
I'm not crossing my fingers and toes for BVS to get a Best Picture nom, but I do hope Michael Wilkinson gets some recognition, because he is slaying it.
I want to see Room so bad. My Brie.Nothing wrong with a little AoU love.
Also, everyone should give a **** about Room. It's the best of the Best Picture nominees, imo.
He has done an exceptional job. Those costumes are works of art.I'm not crossing my fingers and toes for BVS to get a Best Picture nom, but I do hope Michael Wilkinson gets some recognition, because he is slaying it.
See, while I love TWS and Ant-Man, I think the MCU is full of a lot of ugly films. Like the production design and costumes look poor next to what you see on Game of Thrones, and much worse when compared to other award winning productions. Now Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Agent Carter. Those are a bit different imo. They deserve a lot of praise, including legit awards.Agreed. Not just FX, though. Ant-Man fan?Age of Ultron wasn't even the best MCU movie, let alone Best Picture worthy (??).
Too bad they decided to drain all the color out of them again. He has done an exceptional job. Those costumes are works of art.
