95th Annual Academy Awards

They should not joke about the Smith slap if they really are serious about screwing up how they handled it in the moment.

I guess the BAFTAs are gonna be only on Britbox for the US again.

The Daniels (Everything Everywhere All at Once) won Best Feature at the DGA awards — a strong indicator for Best Director(s) at the Academy Awards.

Well, no doubt the Daniels are the official directing front runners now. I know many thought Spielberg might still be a theat.

Side note: All Quiet on the Western Front and The Banshees of Inisherin are cleaning house at the BAFTAs right now.

It seems fellow directors think highly of the Daniels. Directors chose them for the DGA award; and directors nominated them for the Academy award. But Oscar winners are voted on by the entire membership. So it’s possible that actors, make-up artists, etc. might tip the balance towards the more famous/celebrated Spielberg.

That's true, and of course right after I post that, The BAFTAs award someone who isn't even nominated for Best Director at the Oscars. Still open I guess. :funny:

Though... the DGA awards have a pretty good track record of "predicting" the Oscar for best director. So if you're a gambling person, you'd probably put money on the Daniels. :word:

Austin Butler won for Elvis. Think he’s got the momentum for sure.

I’m surprised The Fabelmans wasn’t nominated for the big awards, other than screenplay?

What do you think will be more embarrassing for her in the long run, that rap or being in Kraven the Hunter?
