A Buffy the vampire slayer reboot movie?!

Kristen Bell for Buffy? Anyone? Anyone?

On a side note, I really don't care but if its a must then I vote Kristen Bell.

I could see Kristen Bell playing A slayer, just not Buffy, if it wasn't for the lack of characters from the series I would suggest she played Faith.

Buffy without SMG and Whedon would be like making a Superman movie in 1978 without Christopher Reeve and Donner.

Not using anyone from the tv series is a massive mistake, its like Rebooting Alien with out the Alien

It's cause they can't use anyone, they have no say in the characters, they did absolutely NOTHING on the series. They were only in the credits for legal reasons retaining to the first movie with Kristy Swanson.

I doubt they can even use the name ''Buffy." So what's the point?

again, feel like they're rebooting this for the wrong reasons.

I think Kuzui and Vertigo are doing this to force Whedon to get involved. Kuzui and her husband own the rights to the 1992 film, however, the supporting characters in the TV show (like Willow, Spike, and Xander) are owned by 20th Century Fox Television. So technically, they can make a movie with Buffy in it, since they own the copyrights to the movie and consequently, the title. Fox and Whedon paid Kuzui in order to produce "Buffy" and the spinoff "Angel", that's why they're credited as executive producers in each episode of said shows. (Yet they weren't on set at all, nor did they do anything else.)

If Whedon does become involved with this reboot or reimagining, Fox Television would have to become involved in some capacity in order to let Whedon use some of the supporting characters. But I really thought Kuzui and Vertigo would've pursued this earlier, either in late November after Twilight became a hit, or that Fox would've commissioned a big-screen spinoff in early 2007 to head off the WGA strike later that year (like they did for X-Files 2 and Dragonball).

I guess the success of J.J. Abrams' Star Trek was the clincher for Kuzui and Vertigo to get involved.

No. Just no. If Whedon isnt involved, this thing needs to be burned to the ground, and we all need to forget it was ever even brought up.

Know what? **** reboots. This **** is getting out of hand... It really is.

Well lets not go that far... sometimes they're necessary. Studios just need to figure out what needs rebooting (Star Trek really ****in needed it, and it worked out fine). Buffy just isnt one of those things that needs it. The show ended just fine, and the comics have done a fantastic job of continuing their stories. Reboot = failure.

whats the point?... the only reason i liked buffy was because of the actors cast and characters..

But thay're all at it! And every day more and more of them are announced! I mean, fer chrissakes... It's like the whole world has forgotten that it's possible for things to just keep going.
Yeah, Star Trek worked but Star Trek was rebooted after like forty years of established continuity was laid down. It was time for a new beginning.
****, y'know what i'd like to see? A list of all the reboots. The ones they've made and the ones they're gonna make.
The sheer, monumentally depressing Size of the thing would open alot of eyes...

God Hollywood sucks sometimes...for every Dark Knight they give us Fox makes a Dragonball Evolution or The New Buffy.

Some people just shouldn't have money.

It could **** smeared on paper and would be better than DBE

If I had to choose a new Buffy, I'd go with Aimee Teegarden

Probably more likely gonna be something unoriginal like Hayden Paniettere. "Hey! She's young, blonde and played a cheerleader in that Heroes show! That's kinda like Buffy!"

Somewhere in Hollywood, an executive is pitching this to his bosses and thinking he's being really clever...

People talk about alot of things that never get made. You guys should chill out.

Biggest bunch of ******** I've read in a long time. As others have said, it's not just Buffy that people fell in love with, it was all of the characters and the people that played them. Brushing all that off is a slap in the face. Buffy fans are a loyal and passionate bunch and trying something like this is going to do nothing but bite the Kuzui's in the ass.

You're probably right, something might happen that causes it to not get made. Since this is only in the earliest of stages, prospective crew, like writers and directors, will see the fan backlash early, and no one will want to touch this except the most desperate for work and maybe some low budget studio who won't be able to give it enough money for it to even be a blip on fan's radar or be able to promote it properly so that the general public will barely even know about it.
