I myself do not think Lazarus pits or a revived/still-alive Ra's would return. I think the full circle may just refer to him revisiting Bruce's motivations for putting on the suit OR the fact that Bane is fulfilling the LoS plan to raze Gotham.

I actually don't think Bruce will just become "The White Knight of Gotham"... It's just not "bang!" enough and sort of underwhelming. I can either see him dying as Batman or continuing the legend..

The reason why i say all this is, think how dumb it would be for the final screen card "The Dark Knight Rises" to play after the film when something underwhelming happens.,.. The ending HAS to have something to do with The Dark Knight, if the movie ends with Bruce not being Batman, it's doesn't exactly go with the title.

To be honestly, i got excited a glance of Batman more than full Bane at the end of prologue...

There were a lot of moments i was cheering for Joker because he was funny,weird and underdog ("Look what I did to this city with a few drums of gas and a couple of bullets.") and Batman & mob were underrating him.

Also Bane looks like he digs military.I hate military.

1 and 3 could be from the same scene, possibly culminating in that police chase we've seen. 2 is totally pre Bane ass kicking material.

I'm not sure if the second pic happens after a massive police chase, but IMO it could be pre. Bodies left by Bane as lures leading into the sewers?

This is why I want Bane to practically destroy Batman in their first encounter, I want NOTHING Batman does to work, I want him completely outmatched and outsmarted...I want Bane to own him!

The more savage and brutal the beating, the more savory and sweet the ending will be when Batman "rises", that's why I don't think Nolan will kill off/expose Batman to Gotham...in the end, ALL of Gotham will embrace Batman as their hero.

The only way I can see Batman not being exposed to Gotham is if Bane chooses not to. Maybe he wants to keep the fear of defeating the Bat fresh in people's mind, if he mortalizes the symbol and simply shows he beat playboy Bruce Wayne in a high tech suit he may feel he'll lose the mythical perception his defeat of Batman has afforded him.

I'll hazard a guess that the sci-fi gun is used to neutralize the tumblers. ...

or y'know, the roaring 99% :P (I kid, I kid).

That's what I figured the gun was for but then if so it would mean Batman is on the Batpod in the latter part of the movie, which seems off since Catwoman seems to have it by then. I guess he could be using it to take out cop cars that chase him pre-Bane's arrival, so he doesn't damage the cops.

I definitely agree with this - it also falls strikingly close to the idea that Bane is trying to have some sort of control over Gotham's citizens. Given the amount of emphasis they were given at the end of TDK, they would have to have some significance in this. It ultimately veers back to this initial perception of Bane being the new symbol of Gotham City. Heroic or otherwise. As regwec would put it, a "Jungian" terror.

Sort of like a blatant Chekov's Gun, if he does end up using it around the final act. I like the sound of that.

Alternatively, it could be something he's using to subdue another bomb-induced earthquake in his initial skirmish with Bane. Say, Batman solves the technological details after the attack at the stadium, and then confronts Bane on his second attempt, leading up to a confrontation with Bane losing his technological edge. Bane would then defeat Batman in their more visceral contest.

There's an indirect reference to them in TDK. When Batman confronts Dent during his interrogation of Thomas Schiff he tells him that he is the first "legitimate ray of light in Gotham in decades", i.e. since the Waynes were around.

I'm interested to see how Bale has changed his portrayal of Batman in this film. His Batman in BB and TDK was still very much the Batman from Year One and The Long Halloween. The Batman driven more by rage, still inexperienced, not quite as collected and methodical as he eventually becomes.

I'd like to see if Bale can give off that sense of experience and cold determination that's associated with a more weathered Batman. As many have said before, they viewed Keaton's Batman as the film representation of the more experienced and worn Batman. The Batman who will still frighten a crook to death, but instead of growling and shouting at him, can do it in a whisper.

I'd like to see if Bale shows us a bit more of this Batman. And hopefully some more of the theatricality when attacking criminals like BB showed us.

I definitely think we'll see a more experienced Batman but I think there will be more focus on him just not being a happy person anymore.

I don't know if we will get a fully experienced and in control Batman here. If Bruce gets the cane early in the film, and we consider that Nolan acknowledges Bruce is in bad shape it suggests to me he's going to be so tired and worn into the ground that he's going to make mistakes, culminating in Bane defeating him.

The thought of it makes me sad already. t:
