Since things like "A-lists" are as much a product of common consensus as anything else, I thought we'd start our own little poll to find out who this board considers to be the cream of the crop of the X-men.

A-List
Put everyone you think is an A-lister here. A-listers are the one's who have huge fanbases, get used the most often in stories and crossovers, and always make it into adaptations such as video games and cartoons. Fan interest is always pretty high on these folks.

B-list
This is for those characters who tend to have a niche audience. They can sometimes go years without an appearance and tend to be supporting characters when they do appear. These characters have moderate fan-bases but no wide-spread interest.

C-list and below
These characters are pretty much cannon fodder. If a writer wants to kill off someone without upsetting fans, this is where he looks. People who like these characters tend to do so more for the "underdog" appeal than anything else. They don't show up in adaptations except for split-second cameos.

Good list but I would place these as C list characters. Maybe not so much based on the definition given in the original post, but they seem a step below the other characters listed as B

Pretty much the X-Men in front of X-Men #200 cover are the A-Listers; Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine and Jean. Those 4 are just on another level of being A-lists...then some other A-Listers are Rogue, Nightcrawler, Beast, Colossus, Shadowcat, Iceman, Emma (now). The others are B-Listed. Jamie Madrox is what I call underrated, he doesn't have enough exposure to be considered A-List, even though he has great works. Just like Hollywood.

Gambit used to be A-List, but he's been trash right now, they way they treated his character is so unbelievably dispecable. Seriously Marvel, give us back Gambit!!!

My list isn't going to be nearly as extensive as HoF's. Just a heads up.

A-list

Wolverine: If there was a higher rank, he'd have it.

Cyclops: He's the #1 X-man.

Storm: She's never been in limbo since she was created.

Jean: Dark Phoenix Saga. Nuff said.

Gambit: In Wizard's polls, he was the most desired X-man for all three movies.

Rogue: In a poll by Marvel(in 2001), her debute comic was voted 49th greatest comic.

Beast: Who doesn't love Beast?

Emma: Since Morrison's run.

Iceman: Very popular despite little focus.

Cable: 2nd most successful solo character.

Kitty: She's the centerpiece of the flagship book.

B-list

Havok: He's seen as Cyke-lite.

Polaris: She's mired in her soap opera romance with Havok.

Rachel: Seen as Jean-lite.

Psylocke: Convolted backstory and recent death has dropped her popularity

Bishop: Disliked because of his time-travel and big gun fetish.

Colossus: Tends to fade into the background.

Nightcrawler: The loss of his cheerful personality and the Draco have hurt him

Cannonball: It's a step up from the rest of the kids.

Angel: Is an O5, but is easily the least popular.

X-23: Some of "daddy's" cashcow ways have rubbed off.

C-list

Almost everyone else

Yeah...most of these characters would have made the C list but I was trying to stay within boundaries of the original post.:woot: Maybe we can call them the C+ gang.:)

Angel: Is an O5, but is easily the least popular.

Sad but true.:( Austen's story with Husk didn't help either

The A- listers should be
Prof. X
Cyclops
Angel
Beast
Iceman
Jean Grey
Colossus
Storm
Nightcrawler
Wolverine
Kitty Pryde
...Everyone else is just support staff IMO.:cwink:

And the fact he is Completly usless dosent help [He is the X-men's Aquaman]

LMAO...never looked at it like that but yeah....he really is X-Men's Aquaman...wait wasn't Aquaman powered up...to be like King of the Sea and can control the actual Ocean now...or does he still just talk to dolphins...he should be able to control all forms of water....and water-like substances...that way he'd be MUCH more useful and able to go to other planets and do something other than look pretty....ok....i'm done with my DC rant

Angel should be able to rip off his wings and throw them at people like giant boomerangs...LMAO

Aquaman is far from useless, and he's always been King of the Sea, but he's never been able to control the ocean. What he is though, is a stone-cold badass.

LOL....that sh1t was funny.:)

True, his upgraded telepathy make him very powerful.

Aquaman is the result of poor writing anyone who can survive in the depths of the ocean would be immensely powerful! Aquaman is one of DC's greats!
........Say isn't this an X-men thread?

The current members of X-Factor are all B-List...

and I love it!

Obviously C-list, according to what I hear about that being the bloodiest X-book.

ya but think about how bad ass that makes the curent roster if they survied it all :word:

Well, that's the cheap way to badass... it might also make them lame cause all you'd see looking at the team, isn't qualified mutants... but just the ones that were left. :oldrazz:

Well if u look at it that way, i was lookign form a Survial of the fittest perspective

it would make Apoc proud
