Comics A-list X-men

Aquaman is the result of poor writing anyone who can survive in the depths of the ocean would be immensely powerful! Aquaman is one of DC's greats!
........Say isn't this an X-men thread?
Aquaman is one of DC's greats, one of the big seven of the JLA, and he is quite powerful. He's also king of the largest nation on the world.

True, his upgraded telepathy make him very powerful.
What upgraded telepathy? He's pwned people with that as far back as the JLA Detroit era.

I remember those great Cartoon Network ads about Aquaman trying to speak with a can of tuna... I laughed my ass off so much with those...

I would say holding his own against Despero, effecting a Millennium Giant and ***ing up a white Martian are very big upgrades, especially when you look back at his early career.:cwink:

...can i buy weed from u?

lol!!! thats two things u have said so far to cause me to laugh out loud. good Stuff, good stuff. and I agree....Angel sucks stank uterus....and Storm has and ALWAYS will be an A-lister

all an effort to make him useful and not the JLA's Angel

yes NOW Aquaman is bad ass no ones sayign he isnt

But back in the Superfriend days he was uslees , back when all he could do is swim and talk to fish

he was as usless as a guy who all he had was wings, no Bird mutation nothign but wings...

I can't say I agree. He's become more refined truly, but his White Martian ass kicking was dependant on the Martian's brain, which was related more to aquatic animals than the normal human brain. Although he did not use his telepathy often in the early years, there's nothing to think he wasn't that powerful. He could still pwn Commander Steel with it.

I'll agree that he was useless on Superfriends, but that was in the 70s. Since then he's been a badass through and through.

your B list should be shorter while the C list should be much longer

I'll give you Multiple Man..he has climbed his way out of the C grotto to be a newly minted B-list contender...but everyone else under him listed except kitty pryde and peter rasputin..and juggernaut are C list

I think it would break down like this:

A:
Storm
Wolverine
Cyclops
Jean Grey
Xavier

B:
Beast
Iceman
Rogue
Gambit
Collosus
Nightcrawler
Shadowcat
Emma Frost

Those are the A's and B's. I could go further but i'm kinda pressed for time.

I think that any character that starred in the 93-97 Animated Series has to be considered an A-lister. Especially if they've been in 2-3 of the films. I would break it down like this. At this current time, not ten years ago, not in 2005, right now, it's probably similar to this, in terms of popularity, exposure, and 'coolness' factor:

A-Listers:
Wolverine
Professor Xavior
Cyclops
Jean Grey (yes, she's still dead, but her exposure in the series and films, but her Phoenix alter-ego, will always keep her in the A-list)
Storm
Rogue
Iceman
Magneto

then, to a lesser extent:
Beast (seems to fall to the sides a lot)
Gambit (the '93 series helped Gambit a lot, but that's the only factor keeping him A-list)
Nightcrawler
Colossus (Astonishing keeps him A-list)
Shadowcat (Astonishing keeps her A-list)
Emma Frost (rising up the ranks ever since Morrison)
Mystique

B-Listers:
Psylocke
Angel
Jubilee (overall suckiness aside, people know who she is)
Jamie Madrox (Madrox and X-Factor have given rise to his popularity)
Layla Miller (her inclusion in House of M and her wicked personality have made her the only other X-Factor member to stand out outside of the title)
Polaris
Havok
X-23 (some would say she's an even better character than Wolverine. I agree)
Marvel Girl (ew)
Bishop
Cable
Juggernaut
Sabertooth

then, to a lesser extent:
Scarlet Witch (yeah, she's responsible for all the mutants losing their powers, but who cares?)
Quicksilver
Cannonball
Blink (for being an alternate dimension character, B-list is pretty damn awesome, though Exiles' decline will put her back in the C-list soon)

C-Listers:
The rest of X-Factor (one of the best titles, but individually these characters don't hold a candle to being as widely known as the ones above)
The rest of New X-Men (also a great book on the rise, and these kids will be X-Men one day, but right now they don't have the exposure)
Warpath
Darwin
Hisako (for a character who barely's done anything, that's not bad - thank Astonishing for her (most likely temporary) rating)
Illyana Raspution (for a long-time dead character, not bad)
Forge

D-Listers:
Husk
Stacey X
Ceceila Reyes
Maggot
Marrow (although if she begins to be featured more, like in her recent X-Factor apperance, she's move back up to C)
Lila Cheny
Slipstream (please, keep him on this list forever)
Lifeguard (please, keep her on this list forever)
Shatterstar
Sage
Dazzler
Longshot
Captain Britain
Northstar
Sunfire
Lady Mastermind
Karima
Beak
Caliban

Wow, I went all out for this. So feel free to agree/argue. I might change and save this list for further reference and debate (I like lists. A lot.)

I'll give you that. Although Rahne stays on the B-list.

ugh...if you say so. she's never proven popular tho...just..no...that and well....she just comes off so butch to me..and forget Theresa..Rahne looks like she could be a drunk

lesser extent would make them what? the A- listers? everyone you listed after magneto goes to b list...as for your B list...layla Miller is still and always will be a nobody...meaning outside of X-Factor fans...nobody knows or cares who she is she would make the D list....everyone else on the B list can stay..except for X-23...she's growing in popularity but not that damn fast...Hisako..D list..Darwin..D list....i could go on dissecting your list cuz a few of your D listers, namely the former X-men members so straight to C list while EVERYONE else is D

ugh...if you say so. she's never proven popular tho...just..no...that and well....she just comes off so butch to me..and forget Theresa..Rahne looks like she could be a drunk
She's a werewolf. You can't get much more butch than a feral wild animal. My only issue with Rahne is how all of her dialogue is misspelled.

And I can't believe I left Terry off that list completely. I even remembered Rictor.

Trying to add her accent to the book?

Writing accents is a comic book pet peeve of mine. I don't like it when characters say "Ah" instead of "I." They're talking about themselves. The word is "I." Nobody says "Ah." It might sound like "Ah," but it's "I." That includes Rogue, too.

Haha, yeah, I don't know why I put "to a lesser extent", sure there can be A- listers and B- listers. And Stacy X should never be C list. Neither should Slipstream or Lifeguard. Just my opinion.
