this may be a really dumb question, but i never understood what made superman come out of the coma/come back to life.

was it:
a. lois telling him with a whisper about his offspring
b. the son giving him a kiss
c. his body finished a regenerative healing process

thanks for the answer

Better question is this one... Since the DR cut open his suit how did he leave the hospital naked?
Was Superman flying to get his spare suit in a hospital gown?

Superheroes like Superman or Spiderman can leave places naked. Hospitals or let's say bell towers.

Wasn't his suit (what there was of it) on the chair by his bed? All he had to do was put it on and go out the window, and then fix his suit or put on another when he got back to wherever he went (the DP closet? Smallville?).

There was a catch or zipper like (probably different because he got it from the Fortress presumedly) connection that the Doctor undid. If you listen or put on the subtitles he says he found it or something. So there's no problem except the hole in the suit where he was stabbed. Though maybe it has a self-repair mode.

i was more bothered with the fact that ma kent and ben hubbard (well 1/2 of his face anyway) drove or flew all the way from Kansas to NJ (or wherever Singer had Metropolis) to be with the thousands of people outside of the hospital rght after superman crashed to earth. kinda weird how they got there so quick.

and wouldnt it be weird that martha kent would want to drag ben all the way to metropolis right after superman fell to earth, considering he doesnt know that clark is superman?

Exactly how many days after Martha arrived to the hospital?

Maybe both of them are Superman fans. :yay:

They could of been travelling to Metropolis to see him before he got hurt. To see how he was settling in. Just a thought.

Wouldn't be the first time a poor mother travels incredible distances just to be near his ill son.

those were one of the scenes that tug at my heartstings. if there was anyone there in the whole crowd (Lois and Jason included) that deserved to be by Superman's bedside it should've been Ma Kent. but if that happens Superman cover is blown.

I agree.

It reminds me of an old Hulk Tv series episode. David Banner (Bill Bixby) went to his family's house for Thanksgiving but couldn't share with them the dinner because he had to run away.

The prize of having superpowers I guess.

hahahah lol. My bad.

At least you can laugh about it. It amused me as well so I hoped it would cause others the same feeling. By the way where do you come from? A Spanish speaking country?

I think he was just playing dead the whole time. That guy is such an attention ****e.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Just wanted a long nap and a day off.

He was knocked out and possibly put into a coma from the fall.....he simply had to take time to recuperate and grow stronger once the last shard of Kryptonite was removed.

Honestly, I never saw the whole "Jesus" thing in SR until it was pointed out on these boards. I mean, I obviously saw the similarities between Superman and Jesus, just as it's been evident in every incarnation of the character, but I never really saw SR as a direct allegory and so it obviously never felt forced to me.

I guess I could see why him leaving the hospital like that could be seen as uncharacteristic, but personally, I liked it better than a cornball crowd applauding scene ala Spider-Man. To me, him slipping out like that was more a testament to the fact that he wouldn't want to be showered with praise, which seems quite Superman-esque. Also, given what he'd just been through and heard, I doubt he'd want any more attention than was necessary.

Nothing about SR seemed like they were trying to shove a Christ allegory down my throat, but that is but the opinion of one man.
i totally agree with on what you wrote...that's was definetly the best way for him to leave the hospital

oh well this might be a good place to post this. i wasnt sure if a thread had been made about it or not, but when lois whispers to superman that jason is his son, does jason hear, seeing as he has his fathers powers?i just saw the movie (again) and i never thought about it til i just saw this scene for the 50th time lol. maybe i should make a thread for this?

Singer pout a lot of these ambiguous details. You end upo not 100% sure if he has super-powers or not (except for the piano scene).

Well I am pretty sure he has superpowers, considering a piano flew across the room. It's open to debate whether or not he threw it or did it with his mind, although his hands were outstretched after the fact.

In the script Lex actually opens the door to the pantry and tosses a bomb inside that Lois has to throw down an air duct.
