The Dark Knight Aaron EckHart up for dent!

Gosh, if it's NOT Eckhart at this point, I'll be disappointed. :cmad: lol

Haha, I feel the same way. The more I think about it, the more I want him for the role. I don't want to get too attached because who knows what curveball awaits us!

Hmm, I don't really remember him being mentioned that much during the role. A lot of us were on the Chris Cooper bandwagon (boy, there was some serious damage control when he rejected the role) as well as Dennis Quaid.

Can someone list for me all the different actors that turned down roles for BB? I know there's Chris Cooper for Gordon. Was Quaid another? For Ra's Al Ghul, I heard Russell Crowe and Daniel Day Lewis. Is this true? Any other ones for any other character? Thanks.

I know Viggo Mortensen turned down a role, and Anthony Hopkins was also offered the Alfred role.

That's not necessarily true. We only know who was rumoured to have turned down roles--nobody involved with the film ever admitted to any of it.

How long did it take them to announce Ledger as The Joker after LR broke the story?

A few days... But keep in mind, LR announced he´s the frontrunner, not that he´s got the part, which is what they said about Ledger.

To be fair that almost never happens.

No, they specifically confirmed Ledger.

So, do we know for a fact that Matt Damon turned down Dent or is that rumor as well? Matt Damon or any rep for Damon has not admitted to this. It seems for BB almost every actor they ended up with was not their first choice(supposedly). I'm definitely not complaining, I love the cast for BB, I do find it interesting though.

Again, that's what he just said... ???

No, it's not. This is what UltimateFan said: But keep in mind, LR announced he´s the frontrunner, not that he´s got the part, which is what they said about Ledger.

When in reality, LatinoReview said that Ledger *had* the part, not that he was just in the frontrunner.

Um, no.

'but keep in mind, LR announced he's the frontrunner not that he's got the part, which they said about Ledger'

Look at the wording. I can't see how that is unclear.

Ahh. So that's where this argument stems from. You can read UltimateFan's wording either way.

something i just threw together on photoshop. i can totally see him as two-face. inspired choice if it turns out to be true.

brilliant. maybe the best two-face manip so far. what great about this manip is that it both reflects the iconic two-face look from the comics while being subtle and more realistic. a perfect balance. Well done!

while i'd still give the slight edge to phoenix and norton, eckhart would be fantastic. he's got the mature gravity that a lot of the other mentions like jamie foxx and josh lucas are sorely lacking in.

Russell Crowe alledgedely said that they offered him the Ra's Al Ghul role first. He might have been good, but im glad he passed (if its true) because Liam was better suited for it I believe.

I've just seen Thank You For Smoking.

It was nice comedic drama with good script and cast.

EckHart was great in it, I loved almost every his monologue or dialogue scene.

I am sure he will be great Dent/2Face ;)

Russell Crowe seems like an odd choice, I'm glad he passed as well. Although I liked Liam Neeson a lot, Daniel Day-Lewis would have been absolutely brilliant and my preferred choice(if he was indeed considered for the role).

I will be happy if he gets the part but as others said its another rumor milked by the trades.

Try harder. ultimatefan used 'he' twice, and was referring to different people in each circumstance. That's why it was confusing and could've been read the other way. :oldrazz:

I hypothetically just got ahold of this movie a few hours ago, hypothetically through illegal means, which should hypothetically give me a good idea of how he'd hypothetically play the charming Dent. :o

I can definitely see Eckhart making a great Dent, though there are other choices I have ahead of him. Still, he's a solid actor, and was easily the best actor in the otherwise dismal all around The Black Dahlia. I also think he would have made a great Flass in BB.
