ABC's Once Upon a Time - Part 4

Sue Sylvester or she, along with Rumple, will become what Sylar was like on Heroes. The writers never had any balls to kill him or remove him from the story for a bit to the point where the character just became so stale, boring and repetitive.

I could definitely see Regina and Rumple turning into that if this show goes on much longer.

Certainly. They need to figure something out

^I apologize somewhat for the shrill tone of the above post. I let unnecessary emotion get the better of me. I stand by most of the sentiments and rationales I gave but I should have expressed them with greater tact. Again, apologies to any whom felt I went too far.

I think for some your consensus is probably correct. But most? Eh i don't think so. Its kinda ridiculous when you can bring in other reoccuring "heroes" so to speak. But you can't bring in a villain? Just because they're a villain? come on now... You can't really try to justify that logic....

Not only that... But Im at the point where Im kinda ready for Rumple or Regina to be killed off.... Though i think Rumple is the most expendable, i enjoy him more than Regina usually... But its kinda a bit too dark to have Henry deal with reginas death...

They need to figure out something though. Because it will hurt the show if they keep doing this

People care and want to watch original characters who were there from the pilot, who cares about reoccuring ones. Love that Regina and Rumpelstiltskin are multiple characters and how involved they are in every fairytale. That's interesting to me and that's what keeps me watching, after Regina of course!

I like Regina, but I'm not about to jump on her fanbase bandwagon and cheer her on blindly. She's a likable villain, something that's so rare. Usually villains are made to be unlikable and immoral bastards who have no redeeming qualities. She's not like that. She's a "real" person with real flaws who just happened to end up on the wrong side of the hero/villain coin. That doesn't make what she does acceptable or forgivable but it does give her depth.

And it's already been said many, many times that rolling the same handful of characters into the same villains is tiresome (and yet you can ignore they don't do this for any of the princesses or heroes?). Ironically the one person throwing the biggest fit over the combining of the villains is the one trying to defend it. Your "gut feeling" is laughbly off about me. I have no connection, subconcious or otherwise over Ursula and I could care less who they chose, except they keep reusing the same stretching credibility trope of "it was Regina all along!" line.

Let me explain it this way: They could have spread out this villain of the week is someone new and other times it was really Regina/Rumple and had them fill in for different roles at times. Instead it was almost every one of the villains is secretly these two and it's become a joke.

Now it's so tired and so cliched it just earns an eye roll from anyone who can correctly "guess" it. Much like your "guessing" how people would react, only your smugness is preventing you from seeing everyone else can easily see it coming a mile away too because they keep on doing it! :yay: This is people who are hoping maybe OUAT will catch a clue and start bringing in new guest villains once in a while. Or maybe they can switch it up and the same person can be a princess or a hero in two places at once. :wow:

The best villains in tv show history typically only last a season. Or are spread out reasonably over the course of the entire shows run (usually even being absent full seasons) not in every single episode.

And that's exactly what we have on this show! Regina is more antihero than a villain and you had your one season villain Cora last season and Pan this season. Where is the problem? I'm sure next season will have new one!

Exactly, not only that... But regardless of the reason "why" people feel the way they do doesn't change the fact that the majority "do" feel that way. And that hurts the show. Its much easier to give the majority what they want then it is to try to make them think differently.

I've been fine with 2-3 "mashups" but beyond that is very eye rolling.

Rumple being the croc, and the fairy god mother of cinderella both flowed well with the story and worked for me. Him being beast though did not. Though i do like his storyline with belle, but id be lying if i said i thought it didn't feel convenient or forced.

Similarly, Cora being the millers daughter and queen of hearts also worked very well

Cora and Pan are just half season villains... Regina is always a villain. Id hardly call her an "anti-hero" just yet... She's not quite there. Problem is every single episode of this show reminds the audience that she's a villain... With flashbacks and questionable present day choices...

She's a far distance away from being a true anti hero like lets say... Xena warrior princess who was an incredibly horrible despicable person... Who sought out redemption for her bad deeds and spent the rest if her life trying to rewrite her wrongs, but due to that dark past was still willing to do the deeds no one else would do for the greater good...

Same with Punisher and Wolverine

You just described season 2 finale and Neverland Regina!
And to say that every single episode of this show reminds the audience that she's a villain is just not true. Young Regina is not a villain she's a victim and we had plenty of those episode! Storybrooke Regina wasn't a real villain since the start of season 2!

No. Season 2 Regina only wanted change for henry's love. Not because of guilt or feeling bad about her past deeds and what she's done to people. Sreason 2 Regina tried redemption for herself. Not for Henry. Hell she only wanted a child anyway because she wanted unconditional love... That's hardly being a hero...

That also being said... One or two acts of heroism also doesn't make you an anti hero... Leopards don't change their spots that easily...

Regina doesn't really want to change for herself. And she has no empathy.

And yeah... Young Regina wasn't a villain. But those flashbacks are just suppose to make you feel for her. But they do make her look more awful for all the horrible decisions she made later

I missed seeing Tinker Bell last week on Once Upon a Time. Any scoop on what’s in store for her? –Stef
Maybe, just maybe, the plucky pixie will get her wings back before all is said and done…? At the very least, I’m hearing we will see her confront the Blue Fairy about their past “differences.”

Can Once Upon a Time fans hope for something good for Swan&Thief in one of the next episodes? –Viviane
In the very next episode, airing this Sunday, you’ll get a surprising development on the Emma/Neal front. Whether it’s a “good” development… well, you’ll have to wait and see.

Once Upon a Time‘s Emilie de Ravin recently tweeted about filming with James Immekus and Matt Kane (Switched at Birth). They wouldn’t happen to be playing Michael and John Darling, would they? –Tara
Emilie de Ravin did indeed film scenes with James Immekus and Matt Kane, but mum’s the word on their roles. One of them is British, though. Hmm.

I'm really enjoying this season but something that has become galringly obvious this season is that like only 2 people on this show can actually act. Hook and Pan are awesome and I'm liking Neverland a lot but for Swan to finally let Regina use her ample magical ability was some serious character growth and i loved it. More action like that needs to happen.

Umm... no, not really.

I blame some of the dialogue more than I blame the actors. Sometimes it's very Disney fairy-tale fluffy ****. Ginny Goodwin gets the worst of it, I think.

I think Eric proved that Agrabah is its own realm. And damn! Regina snapped that guy's neck like nothing.

So Regina fakes being Ursula ? That makes sense at least

Lol, they've already included little winks to "Under the Sea" and "Part of Your World". Going hard this episode, I see. And Regina was really trying to Ursula-ize her performance. Came off forced...should've just gotten another actress.

Aaaand Under The Sea has been hinted at again. That's thick.

Edit: Snow just dropped a baby bomb! Didn't see that coming.

Regina was great as Ursula, they ruined everything with that statue coming to life!
Ariel, Regina, Snow stuff was great! Neal crap was boring!

Just saw a commercial for Wonderland and I don't like Jafar with a perm...lmao

So the real Ursula is out there, great! Although this version is a slim statue. Hope the statue stuff is changed too.
