I just wanted to share my thoughts with my Spidey Fans about something. I'm also asking Superman Fans what they think about this as well..

I dont know if it's cause Peter Parker gets the Symbiote Suit, and he's being in Character. Maybe cause he has to be this way. Who knows. Maybe cause in the movie something happens to Gwen Stacy like we all expect to happen.(Well I do). God knows, but lemme start from the beginning real quick.
About Brandon Routh, there's alot of charm to the guy. Everywhere I see him, everyone that has bumped into him. People that I know as well, say he's a very nice approachable guy. It's funny. I'm not one to judge good or bad on someone. But I cant help but be influenced alittle bit about the rumors people spread about how one actor is in person and how another actor is in person. Brandon Routh seems so humble and strikes me as a stand up guy, someone you could just chat with or make small talk to. I have only heard good things about him from so many places. But Toby Mcguire on the other hand, I've heard he's stand-offish, kind of brushes persons off alittle bit. I dont know if thats ever fair though at the same time, cause I've heard this about certain people and I've met them in person and they are really cool. Everyone seems to have their bad days. Same time, if you keep hearing it, then you know, you start to think, "damn is this guy really that effacing with people?" Almost makes you afraid of approaching the person.

I just think it's ironic that the guy that plays Superman, the most powerful unstoppable popular character in the world from another planet is described as so down to Earth and friendly, and the guy that plays a superhero that is everyday, down to earth, normal, hard-luck strikes people as so stand-offish.

What do yall think

Do you think it's well placed to be thinkin about this? or are those of you on the same boat?

Is this a product of a guy just having too many villains (4) in his basket?

They're at different points in their careers. Let's hope fame doesn't go to Routh's head. I can understand becoming a bit "stand-offish" when you lose your privacy the way celebrities do.

Additionally--and I know this is a generalization-- but at 6'3", Routh may have had fewer self-esteem problems in his life than 5'7" Tobey Maguire. Like I said, just a generalization(and a guess).

eh. i understand what you're saying. but i don't let these outside things affect my movie experience.

tons of actors are real *****ebags in person, but that doesn't have anything to do with them making great movies. what i'm saying is, when an actor plays a superhero, he doesn't have to BE like that hero. he doesn't have to BE anything. his job description is to make a movie and do press junlets and interviews and such.

tobey seems pretty nice in interviews, but i can imagine him being stand-offish. brand routh seems really nice as well, but you have to realize that this is his first brush with fame. he's not used to living "hollywood like" yet, whereas tobey maguire is, and he's been spider-man for years now.

you have to look at it this way: being an actor is a job, just like any other. for instance, i think my doctor is a real *****ebag, but he still helps me when i need it, because it's his job. he doesn't have to be the nicest guy in order to do his job properly.

and i don't know what the 4 villians thing has to do with anything.

Maybe Tobey's just the shy, non-outgoing type. I don't know about brushing people off or whatever, but perhaps he's just not comfortable speaking to people he doesn't really know.

yes we hope so too. some of us are just enjoying the last momments that Routh can still be identified as "one of us" before he permanently becomes "one of them".

Routh is just 6'3. he's Superman after all, not Colossus ;)

Routh is just happy to be where he is at. Tobey is an established actor and knows that. I am not saying Tobey is snoody...I have no idea...but he probably knows that he is a good actor.

The only thing this thread spoiled was my lunch....

OOOOPS! What can I say? I read somewhere on here that he was 6'7". Then he probably has even fewer self-esteem issues(sometimes too tall can work against you).:)

Yeah, unfortunately as I learned last week, officially the threads in the spoiler section don't have to be spoilers at all. In fact, they don't have to have anything whatsoever to do with the movie. As long as the person creating the thread SAYS it has something to do with the movie, it's okay.

Them's the rules, learn to live with it(I know have, and I'm a MUCH happier person now with my new meds!:) )
