Days of Future Past About That Ending (Spoilers)...

Thats how i saw it.

Unfortuantley going from two casts to one will feel lesser imo

They are gonna need some solid new performers if we are losing all the original trilogy cast except Wolverine.

Everything about this film and the set up for the "Brave New World" for the FC crew screamed send off for the original cast for me. They opened up the FC crew too endless possibilities, especially with Wolverine telling Charles to bring the X-Men together. I think we will be getting young Jean, Scott and Storm next time around. That is where they are headed imo.

Yeah I got that vibe too, but the door is still open for a 2023 film but FC cast seems more likely. Leaving their options open, very clever:cwink:

Amazing ending and something I wanted,I feel it could go either way a send off or continuing and I'd welcome either decision

I think if we don't get the OT cast again it's going to suck for me. Older Beast is much better than young Beast and we haven't even seen characters like Nightcrawler or Angel return. I feel like it's an overall waste of time to get these younger versions of characters that aren't the full-fledged characters we know and love. To have to wait for them to grow into those characters(after we've gotten great versions of those same characters in the OT) is too much of a chore. Like Beast. You're telling me I have to endure young Beast for yet another movie? So I get 3 movies of him and only 1 real movie with adult Beast? That's bulls**t.

"Oh, Beast sucked in First Class, but he'll be better in DOFP because he'll be the Beast I know and love."

*DOFP rolls around*

"...You mean Beast is still the same timid, growly voice-having kid who's appearance is altered with serum that he was in FC? The only thing that's really changed is his agility and look? OH, guess he'll grow more into the Beast I know and love in Apocalypse. Right? Right?"

Kinberg said Hoult's Beast would become closer to Kelsey Grammer's Beast.

But yeah, I get your point.:funny:

Fassy/Lawrence/MaCavoy thats pretty solid for the next film.

It's going to need a bit more fresh blood than that now. This movie focused so much on those that they need to shake it up a bit more. I don't want new people who are just flashy wallpaper.

The new versions of the original crew.

Anybody else who saw 2016 at this new future scene? Because I didn't notice that date.

It was 2023.

I think the 2016 was on Wolverine's clock radio, because it was tuned to an oldies station.

I just realized. If they do Apocalypse and do bring in "the kids", their first mission to save the world will be against the ultimate threat. :wow:

I was just thinking the same thing a young Jean, Cyc and Storm would be smashed by an Apocalypse and Evil wolverine/Gambit/Archangel/Mystique.

They would need some help from a future mutant or something:cwink:

No, it wasn't there. I looked closely tonight. It doesn't state a year as far as I could see (it was quite blurry)

OK, so there is no 2016. I kept hearing it mentioned, so I figured maybe it was on Logan's radio and I missed it the first time.

I would have been let down if Cyclops and Jean hadn't been brought back. Now with a clean slate, they're free to do another movie with the big four. I'd welcome that with open arms. Come home, X-Men, come home.

Maybe Apocalypse will feature them. If it did I would finally be able to forgive this franchise.

The 'clean slate' definitely makes it believable that younger versions of Cyclops, Jean & Storm can go on and fight Apocalypse, that was one of the things I was worried about before the film, I thought it would be weird that the Cyclops that seemed weak in the OT fought Apoc when he was young. The thing they did at the end with the timeline was clever and give them free reign to make a really good sequel and make it believable that the young characters could take on such a threat. I would really love it in Apocalypse if the X-Men (Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Beast and Havok and The Brotherhood (Magneto, Mystique, Toad, Blob and Avalanche) both fought Apocalypse and his horsemen but came from different points of view and not necessarily teaming up like X2 for example.

Hopefully Singer gets the team aspect spot on for the next one, would like to see something on the level of The Avengers where Iron Man shoots his lasers and Cap deflects them to hit one of Loki's goons. Would be awesome.

That final scene at the school was a visual I've missed since X2, and something I've yearned for since X3. It was a wonderful moment seeing a future where it appears Xavier has succeeded to that degree. It might be the last time we see them all together like that, and if so that's fine. I'm just happy we have thing put to the way they should of been for so long.

Imagine is Cycke was in this. He shoot his beam and it goes through one of Blinks portals and into a sentinel :hubba

Still we had that somewhat when she deflected one of the Sentinels beams

I hope the clean slate will allow them to reboot the young xmen, seeing cyke, jean and the others encounter, magneto, apocalypse, mr. Sinister and other classic xmen villains for the first time. Also allowing the team to grow with nightcrawler, colossus, storm and the others. The possibilities are endless.
