Abuse of Power Thread (Cops, Governments, Etc.) - Part 2

Wouldn't be surprised if he still kept his job.

You know, you would think that such an important Job demands much from those that take it...but it seems like they literally take the cheapest people possible.

It looks insane to me that being a cop is not a job that pays well and demands a good education etc...considering the amount of Power the badge gives a cop.

The Priorities on this are so messed up.

I assume this idiot is going to jail. He's not going to last long in there I suspect.

Police actually do not want people who are too smart because they might get bored. Or more likely they might see the inequalities and injustice and attempt to do something about them.

I Googled it and there are no shortage of references to that.

I really liked this headline from 2000: Court OKs Barring High IQs for Cops - ABC News

NOLA (Louisiana) - JPSO used facial recognition technology to arrest a man. The tech was wrong.

Technology has given police vast reach to compare the faces of criminal suspects against a trove of mug shots, driver’s licenses, and even selfies plucked from social media.

But a recent attempt by the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office to nab a high-end purse thief via facial recognition ended badly for a Georgia man who was jailed for almost a week over a false match, his lawyer says.

They should never rely on it solely and only in conjunction with actual police work, not the lazy bull**** they used to wrongfully lock up an innocent man with zero evidence.

And they wonder why nobody wants to go to church anymore. :(

So much wrong here. I'm assuming some gang members got their ink.

#3 of that first tweet, that came up on the news a few times last night. That groups like SCORPION attract the wrong kind of cops that join them. :(

A lot of times the wrong kinds of people are attracted to positions of power. Pedophiles are drawn to teaching and the corrupt go to where the money is.

SF Gate - A wrestler died of heatstroke. His college will pay his family $14M.
"They would literally make fun of him for drinking water," Moncus told The Washington Post. "They probably thought it was funny to withhold water that day."

But when Brace arrived, wrestling coaches often said that "water is for the weak" and didn't meet Brace's hydration needs, the lawsuit said. When Brace requested water breaks, coaches warned he would be punished and often asked, "Do you think you are special and are allowed more water?" the lawsuit states. Sometimes, a coach placed a water bottle over his crotch while spraying water into Brace's mouth, the lawsuit said.
Brace returned to the school's wrestling room and begged for water while lying on a mat, the lawsuit said. Coaches yelled at teammates who tried to provide Brace with water, the lawsuit stated. Brace said he felt his pupils shaking and thought his head was going to explode, as he pleaded, "I feel like I am going to die," the lawsuit alleged.

Brace then started talking nonsense, saying that he was going to leave in a parade and that he ate a fork, the lawsuit said. He yelled and cursed before charging and tackling a teammate, it said, and coaches demanded that he leave.

After exiting the building, Brace tried to find water. He located a water fountain that was nonfunctional and couldn't enter another building, the lawsuit said. Moments later, Brace collapsed about 250 yards from the wrestling room and was later declared dead, Moncus said.

Manslaughter is the very least. That is negligent homicide. Any professional involved in education and especially sports would know how vital it is to stay hydrated.
