Accumulating excessive wealth...a deadly sin.

Jesus guys. Does an atheist have to teach you Christians about Jesus.

Matthew 6: 19-21

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 19: 24

"Again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for one who is rich to enter the kingdom of God."

Seems pretty cut and drawn. Get rich and Jesus will kick your ass to Hell.

:D

:doom: :doom: :doom:

Jesus said, "Render Aunt Petunia's Porn Unto Aunt Petunia."

Oh yeah... it's in the New Testament.

:thing: :doom: :thing:

On the new 'sin' list there's also Social Injustice and Paedophelia. Add that to Obscene Wealth and the Catholic Church is screwed. :oldrazz: :woot:

I'm not sure how late I am on this topic but Accumulating excessive wealth is a deadly sin????? wtf!

So let me get this straight the pope lays down new deadly sins and me as a Catholic has to live by that now? Where did he pull that out of his ass?
So in a way the catholic people should be earning a certain amount...and when is it too much wealth?

The church wants your money. When you have access after paying for all your necessities, that's too much so you have to give that away. Giving me to me = charity. I'm willing to take cheques. As long as they don't bounce.

I'm Catholic and I haven't agreed with this Pope's decisions since he was elected, and with this I really dont like him. The other recent "deadly sin" he passed was about conserving the environment. Rediculous.

Even though I am an atheist, my parents are christian, so I was dragged to church as a kid. One of the few things that was taught to me at church that I still agree with is "being a good steward of the earth", which is the common interpretation of when "god" told "adam" that he had dominion over the earth.

Just like any person that gives a gift to another would expect the recipient to be appreciative of the gift, but also that they would take care of it, the same thing was said to us in church with regard to how mankind should take care of the environment.

The Pope is ballin' check out the bling bling .

I guess he removed that section from the bible about "treasures on earth"

The pope said that? How hypocritical considering he has the lifestyle of a King while the rest of us are trying to figure out how to both buy gas for our cars and eat
