Actors who you want to "wait and see" if they are any good

Yeah, I've seen pictures of her and I'm happy for her and her talent but that's just an unsafe amount of weight for a girl of her age.

Regarding Gaby Sadibe from "Precious"...I haven't seen the movie, but if she wants to have a long career she has to lose some weight. I'm not saying that to be a dick. That is dangerously obese.
Even as a black attractive woman it would be hard to get roles.

you iknow megan fox is only known for being hott really so far but I honestly think I see some real acting talent in there but it seems like the industry wont give her a chance to prove it. All they do is try and show off how hott she is.

Jennifer's Body was her chance to show off her talent.

Sure, he was outacted by Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana in "Avatar", but his performance in that was a huge step up from Marcus in "Salvation". For starters, his Australian accent wasn't even really noticeable at all in "Avatar", whereas it came out in practically all of the time in "Salvation". Which is strange, because I think he filmed "Salvation" after "Avatar".

He was out-acted by foliage. And his Australian accent was ridiculously noticable, to the point of distraction. Cameron should have just written the character as an Ozzie.

Wont give her a chance? She is a actress right who does movies?

What does everyone think of the chances of success for the two stars of Slumdog Millionaire? I think that both of them fit this category. I also think that Carey Mulligan fits too as I've heard good things about her role in "An Education." I have not seen "The Blind Side" but I have read that Quentin Aaron gives a strong performance.

George Clooney and Brad Pitt, but my patience is wearing a little

I'm with him though. Somehow, I think there is talent in Megan Fox, but she needs to be proactive about it and maybe do some different kind of roles.

Seriously, she's done two Transformer films..and Jennifer's Body. We'll see what happens, but I think people she's a vacuum of no talent. I think otherwise.

That's just payback for years and years of us having to hear Americans trying to do Aussie accents and failing miserably. Except for Robert Downey Jr., of course. :woot:

Excellent point.

I thought Sam Worthington was very "meh" in TS and better in Avatar, but I'm still waiting to see if he will develop as an actor. I thought he was okay in Avatar, but that pretty much everyone else was better.

I think Robert Pattinson might have acting ability if he gets away from Twilight. He seems a lot looser just by the trailer for Remember Me.

I have doubts that Pattinson will ever be a "great" actor, but he has the potential to be a charismatic presence. He just needs a good role to prove it.

Dev Petel is in M Night Shyamalan's new movie, The Last Airbender, where we get to see him play a villain. It looks promising, too.

I've only seen him in that one Harry Potter movie and the first Twilight movie and he impresses me more than Sam Worthington. He can do a decent American accent for one thing and he has more charisma. I'm still haunted by Worthington's crap performance in the Aussie version of Macbeth. I saw Avatar again and gave Worthington's performance another chance and nope, he's still a big bowl of meh. However, he did get more interesting when he was his avatar.

She’s playing a prostitute in her next movie Jonah Hex. She hasn’t done anything remotely interesting acting wise. Fox is still young and I think she has to pick better projects before another hot actress comes along and is labeled the new Hollywood “it girl” Then people will wonder whatever happened to what’s her name in the Transformers movies.

Both Slumdog actors were so bland, I dont see them going anywhere. I think that girl is cast in the new Woody Allen, but neither of them seem like good actors.
I havent seen The Blind Side either, but what Ive heard people hated that kid.
Mulligan is going to be a star however. But she has already proven to be good.

Carey Mulligan proved herself to me in Doctor Who in 2007. I'm really happy for her, I can't wait to see her become a huge star. :D

I'm excited to see how far Emma Stone makes it.

I would also add Dakota Fanning. Although we've seen her in PLENTY of movies, I wonder if she will still hold up once she becomes an adult.

I'm glad that Emma is making it.

It makes me sad when there's a certain actor that you want them to making it 'big' and they don't. I dont even mean they have to star in a bunch of Hollywood blockbusters; I mean getting attention from critics for their work, no matter what kind of movie they're in.

Na he's just probably one of the people who is blind to their actual acting ability because of the all the hoopla that surrounds them.

It's just a strange comment to make with Pitt and Clooney. They have an extensive body of work so you can easily pinpoint how they are talent wise.

Yea I know. But because they are bonafide A-List and handsome and all that, people will overlook their actual ability and just say they only get roles because they are good looking and A-List.

Brad Pitt is a character actor stuck in a leading mans body.
