Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Adrianne Palicki IS Mockingbird

She's a SHIELD agent, so why wouldn't it look at least somewhat like their uniform? It's still distinct enough that it's uniquely "hers." No other agent wears an outfit quite like that one.

But the dark grey is sometimes hard to see in the promo pics that it almost looks black and rather generic. The white is what really gives it a Mockingbird look.

I thought her introductory episode went really well, especially when she whipped out the escrima sticks and went 'a whoopin'. :D

That was the best bit, but why did they cut away when Bakshi and his men were coming just to show us Jemma escaping on the roof? They could've still shown Bobbi taking out the Hydra goons.

It'd be cool if she combines her two sticks into one pole and starts beating some Hydra ass with it.

I want to see her fighting as well as Caity Lotz as Black Canary in Arrow. I wish Bobbi had a mask as well. Some parts of BC seem more like Mockingbird.

I didn't expect her to be made part of the team going forward. I hope that last. SHIELD has to be built back up. Showing some of the more accomplished agents would be a nice expansion of the MCU, as well as the organization. Clay Quartermain, anyone?

Adrianne was great though. A bit imposing as the Hydra security head and accomplished as an agent. I flipped when the batons came out. If she later combined them into a staff, I might have passed out. :awesome:
I thought she was going to do that when walking the hallway after telling Simmons to head towards the roof.

Well, the "slow build" seems all the rage.No doubt this is her "prototype" costume and she hasn't earned the name "Mockingbird" yet.:o

Happy to have Mockingbird, but am bummed they didn't give us at least a little white in the costume.

They said the white "didn't look good", but I'm not buying it. They could have put that one white stripe down the middle and all us fanboys would have been happy. Also, I have no problems with some sort of tactical glasses to give the nod, though I'll be fine without it. All I know is I can't wait to see her in uniform with blonde hair. Mmmmmmm... a blonde Adrien Palicki as Mockingbird!!!!!!

Hands down my new favorite character. I really enjoyed the episode and the season thus far...even with some detractors chiming in my ear constantly...

I loved Mockingbird's debut oh she was wonderful, can't wait to see her in her outfit!

Sexy yet form fitting!

I wasn't expecting to like her. Will this free May up for more acting?

May's episode with Coulson was another one that surprised me.

"Coffee Table KO" will be a good username on here. Freebie!!

But I digress, Mockingbird should be a good addition to this season's action scenes. Seeing as she's a superhero, she should handle the likes of Ward with ease, right?

Hat's off to the poster you noticed the invisible plane easter egg!!

End Transmission.

Ward is or was a top fighter/operative as much as Bobbi and Mae so I wouldn't necessarily say with ease. His imprisonment probably should slow him down some though.

That what i was wondering about. Do the agents with Superhero status have skills beyond the spandex-less agents? Or would May/Ward be able to take on Black Widow/Hawkeye?

Well this was a similar question to one I was going to ask. In the comics, Mockingbird has just the standard acrobat and fighting skills and also is trained with her battle staves. In Marvel Avengers Alliance however, she also has the ability to "mock" others in combat - in other words she can counter them with the exact opposite move/ skill set needed. Is that something people would want to see?

I hope Adrianne is also practising her pole vaulting skills. I also hope there's a stunt woman tall enough to pass for her in the more acrobatic scenes, because I do want her to somersault through the air etc like Black Widow.

.

That's similar to the character they had, but grossly underused in Heroes. She had muscle memory abilities so could perform any feat once she had seen it done. It would explain the codename, which should be necessary considering both Hawkeye an Widow's codenames refer to their abilities/past.

Well I didn't want to go that far and say that Mockingbird had muscle memory abilities, otherwise it makes her too much like Taskmaster, who has photographic reflexes.

I also mentioned this in the general thread:

Isn't the white colour scheme on Mockingbird's costume (which has been replaced by generic dark grey) meant to derive from an actual mockingbird?

The white middle section is integral to the look of the bird from which she gains her name. As for the other colour on her, well sometimes it's been depicted as grey, sometimes dark blue and sometimes black. But white is the more essential element, which they're completely missing now.

Muscle memory, like a female taskmaster?

She was called Mockingbird because she was good enough to mock opponents in battle. So that should put her on the level of BlackWidow
certainly someone who can take May.

here's what Comicvine says:

Powers and Abilities

For almost all of her career, Bobbi has had no superpowers, she is a very accomplished athlete, and her skill in unarmed combat is said to rival that of Captain America. Her trademark weapons are a pair of battle-staves. These staves can be connected at the ends to create a Bo staff.

Recent exposure to a cross between the super soldier serum and the infinity formula have granted Bobbi powers. Although the full effects of the serum are unknown, she has displayed enhanced healing, super strength, durability and agility.

I really hope they ramp up the fight scenes now AoS has Mockingbird

So, what are some things we want to see for Mockingbird this season (or in the future)?

Here's mine:

- Want to see her uniform altered to include a white section in the front.
- Want to see her wearing some sort of tactical glasses to give the nod to the comics.
- Want her as a blonde. But it needs to be Mockingbird blonde, and not some brown hair with blonde highlights kind of thing. Like this:

- Want Hunter to make some comical statement when he sees that she is blonde again. Something like "There's the Bobbi I know" or "Now that's the way I like you to look, now if you could just do something about your personality faults".
- Want to see her connect her two bo-sticks together to create a staff, and I want to see her use it for a purpose (polevaulting something).
- Want to see her stand off against May. Could be during a practice session.
- Want to see her use her ability to counter the fighting abilities of whomever she is fighting. Actually, would love to see this used against May, causing May to be beaten. Maybe Bobbi can just counter everything to the point that May gets upset and over reaches, allowing Bobbi to win.
- Want her to end up being called Mockingbird, maybe not right away, but at some point. Maybe Fitz could decifer that her fighting style allows her to counter whatever her assailant is doing, making her sort of a "fighting Mockingbird".
- Want to have a Hawkeye cameo with obvious mutual attraction, and possibly jealousy on the part of Hunter. Actually, it would be pretty funny to see an episode like this, with Hawkeye, and then at the end you see Bobbi wake-up in bed, in the Poconos, with a sleeping Hawkeye next to her, and when she looks at the ring on her finger they fade to black.
- Would love to see something like this lead to a movie (as someone above stated) with Hawkeye and her. With the right story Hawkeye could pull off his own movie, and having Bobbi gives the personal relationship storyline.
- How cool would it be for all of this to lead to a West Coast Avengers?
- I could see her story going the route where she must be injected with a special serum to save her, which gives her augmented strength and agility (per canon).

Anyway, very excited by ths addition. AOS is better than ever IMO.

What would really make me geek out is seeing the AOS going to a costume party wearing DC super hero costumes. How funny would it be to see Coulson as Superman, Hunter as Green Arrow, Fitz as the Batman, etc. But best yet, Morse as Wonderwoman! Maybe this would not be allowed, but if it was (they did it in the Big Bang Theory), how funny! I know, doing this would take away from the seriousness of the series, but sometimes it's good to just have some fun!

I'd like the designers to get rid of the high collar on Mockingbird. One thing Black Canary had in Arrow was that jacket that went over the top she was wearing underneath which exposed her neckline. That gave her quite a Mockingbird look, and would've been even more so if the top she had on underneath were white. I don't like the collars on the costume that is debuting in AOS next week. Again, it makes it too much like a standard generic jumpsuit.

Give her a neckline more like this:

It doesn't need to expose her cleavage, but could just be cleaner, without the jumpsuit look.

She probably visited the renowned plastic surgeon, Dr Frank Cho.

I wish Mockingbird's uniform also incorporated the silver wrist bands.
