Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Adrianne Palicki IS Mockingbird

How many people would actually be able to have detailed conversations about Marvel with their mothers?

They are actually some of the only films that both my mom and I like, and I'm at that age were I like having these things to share with my parents if it's watching college football or watch Captain America. Typically speaking I am so into character work and literary criticism and classical works and am deeply geeky, really diving into the fandoms of the things that I love. Meanwhile, my mom likes thrillers, murder mysteries, and actions films were the good guys win and you don't have to over think it and while she's into a few geeky things (MCU, Buffy, Xena, Star Trek) it's all a result of it being action based in some way rather than her being really "into" a fandom.

So it's cool that we share this common interest, you know, even though she seems to be really obsessed with May for some reason.

I don't think they've said the codename yet, so I think it's understandable not to know it.

Well she knows it now! I asked her a few more questions, just out of curiosity, and she's now completely calling the character Mockingbird.

On the other hand I STILL haven't gotten her out of the habit of referring to the Hulk as "that giant green guy"

Hulk is one of the most household names even if you don't really know about him.

Anyway it's cool you have that in common with your mother.

My buddy's Mom goes with him to see almost every Marvel movie on opening day. She absolutely loves Cap, and went crazy over Guardians of the Galaxy. They've got a really interesting relationship!

Just want to thank the AoS writers for that scene with Bobbi... Damn she looks good :hrt:

On a serious note, I dunno whether I like the idea of Hunter and Bobbi as a pair. It was fun when they were at each other's throats, but angry sex all the time will get tiresome... (and not just for them haha)

Where are the gifs?

I think he is merely in it because they can't use Hawkeye.

Bobbi Morse: Hunter Rider. :p

It's strange, because my mother has sorta a mild interest in the SH genre, but I couldn't get her to watch Avengers for love or money.

She's really getting into The Flash series now. She's trying to get interested in Arrow (by 'Flash' proxy),but she's not much into the Marvel universe for some reason.

Thankfully, my mom can't tell the difference between the Marvel and DC shows/characters, and she generally enjoys them all. She's not nearly as into them as I am, but she generally looks forward to them when she sees the trailers and I can pretty much always count on her to join me for one of my 3-6 theatrical viewings of the CBM's I love. :D

Disown her...

I've watched all the Marvel movies with my Mom as well; she likes action movies. Through phase 1, we only watched them on DVD (because I was a late-comer to the MCU), but we watched them in theaters from Avengers on. That's not to say she always remembers all the details right away. I was sure to remind her of the plot of TFA when we were on our way to the theater for TWS. At the very least, I wanted to make sure she remembered who HYDRA was, and who Bucky was.

The sole exception has been GotG, which I thought might be a bit weird for her (she had a kinda weird reaction to the trailer when we watched TWS). But I figure we'll watch that one on DVD at some point, though. Maybe over Christmas break.

I know she watched the first season of AoS with my little sister (who has now gone off to college), but I don't know if she's been following this season or not. I'll have to check.

That's kind of like my mom: she's really just a big action fan that I dragged in with me. She also is a total MCU fangirl, even if she doesn't know it. She likes Wolverine but not his movies, as she puts it, and can't stand Spider-Man who is just far to whiny for her taste. She loved the old batmans but doesn't understand why the new ones have to be so dark.

My dad (who isn't into superheroes) asked me once if I was going to watch the new Flash series, since Flash is the only one he remembers liking as a kid. Mom was all excited about the idea until I told her it doesn't connect to what we've been watching because it's a DC property.

She immediately told dad we won't watch any new DC properties (unless it's Wonder Woman, she considered the fact that Wonder Woman and Black Widow don't have solo films to be one of the crimes of the century) in this house. :cwink: She was joking, of course (I'm pretty sure....) but considering she doesn't know Marvel from DC it's amusing how much of an MCU fan she is.

By the way, she's loving Mockingbird (still not as much as May. Agent May is my mom's superhero) and demands I call her that now. She knows who they're talking about on the show when they call her Bobbi or Morse, but whenever we're talking about her my mom gets upset with me if I don't call her Mockingbird. I'm the only reason you even know her super identity!

I was surprised by this character...she kicked some hot whooping ass. lol. But as always, Black Widow still remains my fave.

Saw this posted in another thread and couldn't help butt hink it would make a good costume for Mockingbird.

I don't buy her fighting that much.

May vs May was a good brawl so I can't fault the whole show's fight choreography but Mockingbird's just doesn't convince me yet.

That said, I didn't buy a 50 year old May for a full season and a half so I might come around eventually.

As much as I love Bobbi, her scenes wth that scruffy bastard Nick Hunter Blood Lance are dragging her down. He's annoying with his stupid ex-wife insults and constant whining. Bobbi should be relieved of that ugly ball-and-chain. She deserves to be a full-time member of the cast instead of the back-stabbing jerk she was allegedly married to.

I agree. I feel like we're supposed to find Hunter charming and their bickering/banter cute, and I just don't, on either account. I completely love Bobbi when she's interacting with anyone else on this show, but Hunter, like you said, just tends to drag her character down.

And frankly, it worries me whenever people suggest he's their version of Hawkeye because A.) Hawkeye deserves a better stand-in, and B.) it suggests that this Hunter/Bobbi thing could be in for the long haul, and I am not a fan of that idea at all.

Frankly, I don't understand why they brought in Blood/Hunter as a regular cast member instead of Bobbi. He is a poorly-written character who adds nothing besides his abrasive personality. There hasn't been a single situation where his presence was a decisive factor in a mission.

The producers apparently brought Bobbi in as Hunter's much-maligned ex-wife to legitimize him by tying him to a popular character from the comics, but in so doing they've diminished her stature as well as Hawkeye's. They did things backwards. Bobbi should have been brought into the fold as her own woman and Hunter written as a worthwhile character in his own right. The impression their relationship gives me at this point is that Bobbi is pretty much expendable and will be jettisoned before long, with Hunter staying on the Bus. That's the exact opposite of how these characters deserve to be treated.

Are moles removable without leaving a crater in your face?
I don't understand why people who have them keep them.
