I don't understand how any request for a date can end without knowing if the person is or isn't interested in dating you.

You ask a girl on a date. She says she's busy that night. So you say 'What about next week'. If she then says she's also busy then you say 'Well what nights are good for you?'

If at that point she is still not responding in a positive way, she's not interested. Simple.

What did you actually say when you tried to ask her out?

And are you not worried that her drunk texting you in a non booty call way might be an indicator of you already being in the dreaded friend zone?

I very well may be friend zoned, and if I am, then on to the next one.

But as far as when I ask her out, I did ask her out to grab some drinks after work one night. This was last weekend. She was busy, and I was busy this weekend, but I told her that I was free this next weekend for us to make plans, and she agreed.

I may be friend zoned, sure, and if so, then I have other options as well.

Then we just kinda started talking again out of nowhere, and she was making a big deal about wanting to see me, and coming to me work to see me, and then that night that she drunk dialed me to go see her. But then it wasn't a booty call. But she really wanted to see me and started getting impatient when I was with friends. So I really don't know lol. Nobody that I've talked to knows what to make of her, they all just say give it a shot cuz she seems like she might be.

Yeah I'd give her a shot but I wouldn't wait around. However, I'd try and be a little aggressive and not try and wait for some "perfect" opportunity.

So me and the girl I've posted about decided to go ahead and commit to being in an actual relationship despite the distance. We talked about and have both said that we're all each other can think about and legitimately want to be together. This is seriously the first girl I've ever felt this way about so I'm not going to let her go just because of 1500 miles. We've both said we'll make it work.

We'll see how it goes....

Haha, and I spent a night out with my former coworker and it was quite...interesting. I'd always been a little as to why she always got into trouble with men (relationships and otherwise, um, unsavory interactions too) when she's the same size as I am (ie, nobody bothers me when I'm physically as nonthreatening as she is), and I think I've figured it out.

When she's feeling awkward and uncomfortable, she gets REALLY flirty. Turns into a complete little girl. Since I'd always seen her at work where she's a badass and a professed introvert (even directing a phonecall to ME, the stutterer, because she couldn't take the social interaction), I'd never seen this side of her and it was downright fascinating.

When she wandered off, she found herself in a pub and texted me saying that she was staying for a while cause two guys bought her a beer. And then later she invited a bunch of members from a random band to have dinner with us. I was like, W. T. F. Luckily the band never did show up to dinner, but dude! You bet your ass I'm not inviting a bunch of random guys to have dinner with me!

So um, a lesson to CC and other girls wishing they got more attention from guys. It's okay to feel really awkward and uncomfortable, as long as you turn out really flirty as a result.
