It can be a good thing if you break up though. My first bf I met in college, but we didn't really share any friends or even classes because we had different majors. So it wasn't ridiculously awkward when we broke up.

I did hit it off with a female friend he had in high school, and we're best friends now.

And the way you're thinking about it...a relationship has to be a convenience to you first before you can consider it. A relationship just doesn't fit into your already-existing life like a puzzle piece. It changes it. Not always completely, but it always does. I mean, I'm doing the same job I was before I met my fiance, but my living situation is obviously different, and I'm doing different things for fun because he's around. Doesn't mean I'm ditching my friends or anything. Things just shift around.

You're thinking too much about a possible relationship without actually having met someone you really really like. Believe me, when you meet someone you really really like, you start to break your rules without a second thought. I mean, take a look at Willard here.

The simple explanation is that you just haven't met anyone who's really piqued your interest and/or made you feel comfortable yet.


If it seems right, just go with it. You'll always figure out how to make it work if it feels right.


In my more naive days, I put out a personals ad on Craigslist and got 1000 responses in a week. I was juggling guys like woh and I hated it. I'm an introvert, remember? No relationship actually came of that but most of the guys who messaged me were actually quite pleasant to talk to, and the guys I did go out on dates with were pleasant too, so the whole experience renewed my faith in the male species.

But yeah, no I am NOT juggling more than 2 guys at a time even at the chat level.

Yeah, right now I've been on 3 dates, 3 different girls, 3 nights in a row.

I'm got another date tomorrow night.

Right now, I'm just staying cautiously optimistic and realistic and careful about my body language and my intentions. I'm trying to be aware of the fact that I most likely am not the only guy these girls are seeing either, and that's completely fine with me.

I'm not looking for Miss Right or Miss Right Now. I'm just looking for companions, no strings attached, just someone to do activities with.

If these hookups or dates lead to something really serious, that'll be the time to tell them what's been going on.

Until then, I'm just going to keep my options open. Right now, it's all been relatively harmless.

If she gives you the evil eye then comes over pours coffee on you and gives you your grandmother's head in a mason jar then it's safe to say she really was having evil thoughts, but that rarely happens.

Basically she's thinking "notice me, f*** you! You stupid c***, I'm over here jacka**, why won't you notice me!" when she gives you that look.

I usually like to let it fester a while, but you gotta act on it at some point.

...Considering that most of Dreadstar's stories about her involve alcohol, or casual settings, considering her age this is pretty normal. Dreadstar is just naive enough to fall for it.

My friend (The one Darthphere referred to as 'the one on the right') needless to say gets bought a lot of drinks, and usually if I'm out with her and her friends I get the drinks bought for her. You'd think all these guys would notice me double fisting some flavored Vodka drink...but no.

I can't help it though. When someone is talking about a girl the way Dreadstar is talking about comic girl, it just screams of 'taking advantage'.

I mean, i'm a party girl. I go out, I get drunk, I make out with plenty of weird people, like I said. But these people are usually just as wasted as me and completely spontaneous. They have no 'plan' to get me. They are not pretending to be my friend so they can 'give me a good dicking'.

You don't need to tell them you've been seeing other girls, anyone doing online dating is probably doing the same thing. My fiancee and I joke about who we were dating during our initial dates now, but when we got to the stage where we wanted to be exclusive, we just asked each other if there was anyone else. Both of us said no and that we had already turned off our profiles.
